I played and beat HL2 on hard mode with my nose
I just got back from the Andromeda galaxy. Successfully played through Crisis, on max settings, with my mind. The computer that was running it was on Earth. And I had no monitor.
:smug:
And reverse content: I'm done with consoles. I'm saving up my money for a PC now.
yo dawg we heard you liked the 4th dimension so we built you a multidimensional matter transporter so you can literally play garry's mod while you play garry's mod
I beat Episode 3 already. With my left ass-cheek. On an Atari 2600.

Playing Crysis without a monitor doesn't count. Without a monitor, you don't have any graphics, which means your computer doesn't need to do anything.
Also, considering how buggy it is (I just played through the final boss battle 10 times without dying OR finishing, I should know) your mind would've melted.

Wow, it's true what they say. Sarcasm really doesn't transfer well over the internet.
Remeber in the Last thread where I was trying to convert "Sean" from Alienware?

ahahahahahah oh wow
stupid, the process is still running, the GPU is rendering the device although you have no way of seeing the process physically.

:downs: Your monitor doesn't need to be attached for your GPU to render stuff, you just won't see it.
Fucking ninja.
we get two new computers at work tomorrow. each one has an i5, 8 GB DDR3 1333, and a 500 GB raid array. Meanwhile, the computer that all the mixing and mastering is done on is still rocking a Q6600 and 4 GB DDR2 800
edit:
by the way, I work at a recording studio if you couldn't already tell.
Just got finished playing Battlefield 2 with a hair. Endgame.

your computer is still processing the information. you just can't see it because it is not converting the frames to a viewable format and then transmitting them to your monitor

+10 respect for working at a recording studio where I will be spending most of my life.
I bring content, myself that is.
I'm wondering if digital sound can be of different quality depending on the hardware, and not the sound file?
I'm sitting here with a pretty damn good headphone, and the amplifier isn't in the cheap pricerange either, however I find that the sound it outputs lacks effect, mass, in other words it's too gentle with the lower tones.
Could it be my Intel integrated sound thingy, or is it my amplifier's analog converter thingy?

do you already work at one or are you planning on getting a job at one? I was under the impression that you were like 15 years old, so the latter? I work for Cenico, if you've heard of it.

digital sound can sound poor from poor hardware. it's probably your sound card, depending on your headphones. even the shape, size, and contents of the room can make a difference. clap right now, you'll probably hear it twice.

Thing is I haven't got a sound card. It's all transmitted through the same HDMI cable as the video is going through, all streaming from my i3's many features.
Edit:
So, how exactly do I hook up a soundcard, so I can still transfer both the sound and video over a single HDMI? I read something about going through a graphic's card.

integrated sound is still a sound card, just not an add-on one.
Sound cards will have your audio ports right on them, so you're gonna want to have the TV/monitor that the HDMI is going to, muted. Then what you're gonna do is plug whatever headphones you have into the back of the soundcard.
