My teacher was trying to host a video for class yesterday on her mac. So when she plugged in the projector the mac automatically set it to a second monitor and extended the screen. She couldn't figure it out so I decided to step in and help. All the retards in the class were "LOL ITS A MAC. U SHUD GET WINDUS! CUZ THAT NVR HAPPENZ" That aside I move the video towards the right, assuming that the mac extended the screen to the right. When they saw it move over like that they all thought I was some kind of fucking wizard. Then the best part is, one that was ranting the most about it being a mac decides to walk up and fuck with the video output settings and fuck the whole thing up and then proceeds to say "THAT WOULDN"T HAPPEN IF IT WAS A PEEECEEE!"
I want you to go to your local storage center and buy a ton of boxes. Then give one to each kid in your class.
My dad's computer's start menu loads from top to bottom in about 3 seconds. After 12 seconds of loading.
After my mother's computer sits unused for about half a day while she's at work, the screensaver takes 5 minutes to disappear, and after that the computer stays virtually unresponsive for about another 5 minutes. If you click on the start menu when it's done shitting on itself, it takes it about a painful 20 seconds to load with an initial 7 second wait after clicking before it even tries to load. I win. [editline]19th January 2011[/editline] For now anyways, I know someone else is gonna beat that.
* Did not, at any point, mention the platform it would be for.
it's so awesome it has to have it's own system designed for it you know those gateways in uplink that are so big they have their own room yeah it's going to be like that

I replaced the ulgy, falling apart Dell Dimension 4600 tower (The front is held on by duct tape) that my mom was using with a slightly faster Compaq machine that her CRT sits on. Less space used and the silver looks much nicer than grey. I shoved a clean install of XP on there, installed all her games, Microsoft Security Essentials and Firefox with AdBlock+. Works fine for her.
This place seems rolling pretty neatly without me, I have made 2 major fuck ups and that kept a discussion going for like 8-12 pages both times. Well, at least I learn what I did wrong. How many cocks do I have to suck to not be branded as an idiot?
about six dozen
I'm 16 without a job (yet) and she doesn't care that her desktop is really slow. She is INCREDIBLY patient with computers. That happens when you're stuck using DOS at work still well after Windows 95 came out. Though the strange part is, when you get it going, it isn't so laggy anymore. Till you open a Youtube video. [editline]19th January 2011[/editline] I'd buy/build her a new one if I had moneys.
More content from dipshit at school: He said that TF2 was copying Battlefield heroes, and it was "gay." (I'm also pleasantly surprised at all of the content being posted! :unsmith:)
Though the strange part is, when you get it going, it isn't so laggy anymore.
She's probably got like 50 things set to do things while the computer's idle.
Nope, not really. All it's used for is browsing. It's anti-virus is AVG (which I installed, it choked on anything else) and there's never any scheduled scans. Though I run that and MBAM every week or so for her just to make sure. She's not an idiot about computers, thank God. So usually I don't have to fix anything. Her computer is just... Old. OS was never reinstalled. Ever. Though it did receive service pack updates. Registry has been cleaned a few times. Defragged twice. (Both recent)
ugh i started my "intro to C++" class today and the teacher commented on how good alice was
I was gonna take a class like that just so I can put it on some application and then I thought I'd spare myself the braincells.
Okay, general chat time thing I guess. How much crap (consoles and computers) do you guys have in your house/whatever you live in? Me? ... A fucking lot.
Let's see... Laptop (Asus M50) Desktop (custom build, Phenom II X3-based) Old Desktop (Ancient POS, original Athlon) WIP build made literally from scraps (Celeron 266) put inside an old CRT case A mostly-broken, mostly-disassembled PowerMac G4 I "liberated" from a dumpster for the case Two other old desktops, used for parts Two old laptops, ripped apart Gamecube Wii GBA SP and (temporarily) my cousin's PS2
Also on the General chat comment: In my dad's room: A media client (connects to an FTP media server) VPN servers Data servers Web hosting servers and a bunch of high end audio equipment. In the living room: My dad's desktop, next to that his media server more high end audio equipment and stuff that my brother and sister use. A broken desktop and my sister's netbook. My room: PS3 360 Desktop a server I've been trying to get to work an old busted laptop and my netbook. Damn auto merge! Also my dad has a shit ton of extra computer parts and stuff pre 90's. He hasn't inventoried it in a long time.
We regularly have CS 1.6, warcraft 3, and starcraft LAN games in our tech room, we have the best teacher.
My class "tested the network" with CoD4, Halo(original), and the two RTS's you named. It's also cleared with the administrators, so if they came in, we're being retards in CoD or dicking around in Warcraft, it's excusable.
Damn you Apple and your products impossible to put back together :argh: One side of the screen on my friend's iPod touch won't fucking snap in, I'm about to take a hammer and end its miserable life.
Okay, general chat time thing I guess. How much crap (consoles and computers) do you guys have in your house/whatever you live in?
In order of how much I use it: - Custom built computer, originally had as much power as what I'd wager to be a mid-range 2005 box, but since then added a better video card and another GB of RAM. - Dell Optiplex GX110 (Pentium III designed for Win98!), found on the curb for free outside my house one day. - Compaq Presario C751NR, currently has a major heating issue, but I think it's just full of dust. - ASUS EeePC, needs a new OS. - Brother's Toshiba Satellite, I haven't used it since he got out of jail. - Mother's Dell laptop, I never used it. [editline]19th January 2011[/editline] oh, and this is out of order (goes between the Presario and the Eee), but there's a PS2 hooked into the TV. Yes. Two.
Finally, it's back together :buddy: I win once again, Jobs :smug: Also, I'm charging 20$ for changing the screen on this piece of crap, do you guys think it's a fair price?
I have A ps1 Ps2 Xbox 360 Compaq pentium 1 desktop Compaq dual pentium 3 workstation dell dimenshit 5150 Dell dimenshit 9150 P4 NAS Amd desktop (ex nas) p4 data recovery rig Intel core 2 duo rig Intel core 2 quad rig 3.06ghz c2d 24" iMac Amd athlon packard bell desktop ASUS Eee pc 1005HA ASUS Eee pc 1201n Some fujitsu laptop IPod touch 4g 32GB iPod nano 2g 4GB x3 iPod video 5.5g 80Gb And a whole chest of draws full of computer parts. Just explain to the guy how much of a pain in the ass it was.
We regularly have CS 1.6, warcraft 3, and starcraft LAN games in our tech room, we have the best teacher.
We used to be able to do that with out old teacher, Shit was awesome. We don't have accounts :smug: They do have a blacklist with pictures of "offenders" who can't access the computers though most of those people were blacklisted for physical damage to school computers.
Okay, general chat time thing I guess.
