He has no friends and his family died in a freak accident (he shot them in the head and buried them sssssh).
Well US people mostly send sms/mms or use Google Voice. WhatsApp is mostly popular in Europe and Asia.
But WhatsApp is awesome.

I use it to text people internationally, even though I have unlimited international texts.

Exactly. None of my friends use it.
I use either SMS or FB msg depending on the situation

Don't we all?
also WhatsApp is nice because is has an app for every device, including your toilet.
edit: EXCEPT TABLETS :|
My WhatsApp service expires tomorrow :(
I guess it was due, I've been using it free for 2 years.

No official site/client for PC
Edit: ninja'd

It should renew itself automatically. It did that for me twice already.
No official site/client for PC
well yeah, desktop and tablets are excluded. But you can get it even on those old Nokias with the non-touch symbian afaik.

3 times for me. first one was a year, then 3 months, then 1. I doubt they will extend it anymore.
Seriously, a tablet app should be easy for them. Just make it work if your phone and tablet are on the same network or something.

Apparently it's endless/lifetime unless you actually want to pay. They won't stop you from giving them the money :v: But even then, it's like a dollar.
Somehow I never paid and it never expires.
Maybe cause I'm in Asia
I never touched WhatsApp, everyone uses Skype that I know of.
whatsapp is great because it doesn't have a persistent notification
[editline]17th April 2013[/editline]
persistent notifications are bad
Though they do make sense in apps that can cause excessive battery drain or data usage, just like Skype does.
could they just use GCM and not use so much battery though? talk does the same as skype and doesn't have a notification.
I just had a realization:

Samsung rehashed their design, they're fucking identical from the front, one is just smaller.

If they're so similar, then I can legitimately call Apple out for continuously rehashing their iDevices designs
well i'm not saying that that is so terrible :v:
i just noticed that it's like that
Asus does the same thing with their Vivotab and Memotab tablets.
Almost identical just that one has a Windows "button".
could they just use GCM and not use so much battery though? talk does the same as skype and doesn't have a notification.
I guess it has to do with skype's peer to peer message syncing/storing. Plus if I'm not mistaken, only Android would benefit from GCM, right?
OMG Ezhik your avatar! :v:

no
good job changing it to some irrelevant link from the screamer tho
could they just use GCM and not use so much battery though? talk does the same as skype and doesn't have a notification.
I often don't get talk messages though, or really really late.
Welp, about to give PA a whirl
let's hope this is worth the fact that i'm apparently downgrading to 4.1

On many apps you can turn it off and it is conveient to jump onto the app through the notification bar. I have steam and imo running all the time and it doesn't really bother me.

How do you even. You mustn't have any drawer space left for actual notifications..
[editline]17th April 2013[/editline]
Also pebble has a persistent notification, derp. Wouldn't be as bad if it would just stick to the top which it did on stock samsung because samsung keeps active (persistent) notifications and actual notifications separate. Cyanogenmod does not.
