Well US people mostly send sms/mms or use Google Voice. WhatsApp is mostly popular in Europe and Asia. But WhatsApp is awesome.

I use either SMS or FB msg depending on the situation

Asus does the same thing with their Vivotab and Memotab tablets. Almost identical just that one has a Windows "button".

I have steam and imo running all the time and it doesn't really bother me.

Wouldn't be as bad if it would just stick to the top which it did on stock samsung because samsung keeps active (persistent) notifications and actual notifications separate. Cyanogenmod does not.
