Lol s3 and large battery in the same sentence.
Lol s3 and large battery in the same sentence.
So what would you have me buy? Arrogance doesn't help me much right now.
So what would you have me buy? Arrogance doesn't help me much right now.
It was more a jab at the s3 if anything.
ALWAYS GO NEXUS no need to wonder "oh man will i get the hot new version of android? i hope so!!!!!" already makes it better
Too late, got the SIII. I don't really care about the latest of Android updates either though, so I'm good.
i'm crying a little no holo for you son
Don't worry I cancelled my order just for you.
Install CyanogenMod.
I got a Blackberry 7250 instead. EDIT: Automerge.
Don't worry I cancelled my order just for you.
Hopefully you'll spend money on holo masterrace.
Fuck the N4. No sd-card slot. [SUP][SUP]Boom motherfucker, I'm a rebel without a cause.[/SUP][/SUP]
The only choices at this point are to get the HTC One, the Galaxy S4, or, if you do not want LTE or storage or a good screen, the Nexus 4.
The only choices at this point are to get the HTC One, the Galaxy S4, or, if you do not want LTE or storage or good design or a good screen, the Nexus 4.
did you just say the n4 has bad design my word [editline]25th April 2013[/editline] and post the S4 in the same sentence, even worse
Time to grab our pitchforks.
Alright, just finished flashing CM10.1 on my galaxy S3 and I regret not doing it sooner.
So apperantly theres CM10.1 for my phone (Galaxy S plus i9001) No idea how to do it or if it's even worth it.
So apperantly theres CM10.1 for my phone (Galaxy S plus i9001) No idea how to do it or if it's even worth it.
Totally worth it especially for your device.
Alright, just finished flashing CM10.1 on my galaxy S3 and I regret not doing it sooner.
I told you
ALWAYS GO NEXUS no need to wonder "oh man will i get the hot new version of android? i hope so!!!!!" already makes it better
nexuses sometimes have questionable battery life, specs and build quality galaxy nexus sipped with one of the first 720p screens but the GPU in it was worse than the S2's and its battery life was terrible N4 is a bit better tho [editline]25th April 2013[/editline]
The only choices at this point are to get the HTC One, the Galaxy S4, or, if you do not want LTE or storage or good design or a good screen, the Nexus 4.
in the uk we;re just getting LTE and it's just another way for companies to charge us up the ass for a small speed boost. galaxy s4 has an awful UX and is apparently more laggy than it should be, it's also gimmicky and plasticky everyone should just get the htc one
Might buy the HTC One instead of the Xperia Z. Is it getting a lot of developer attention? I love customizing them phones.
CM10.1 is already in alpha, builds are rolling out pretty fast and bugs are getting fixed. [editline]25th April 2013[/editline] Tip to anyone using a One: The WiFi antenna doesn't have transmit and receive diversity. Don't let your fingers touch both the top metal piece and any other metal part of the phone, it will drop wifi reception by quite a bit. [editline]25th April 2013[/editline] Oh, and never say that the GS4 is awful for UX, laggy, gimmicky, or plasticky in /r/android. People will absolutely destroy you for it. [editline]25th April 2013[/editline] Even better is that everyone is ignoring how Samsung is locking the bootloader of EVERY SINGLE GS4. This has only been done on the Verizon GS3 before, now it's all carriers and all countries.
My brother and I both have HTC Ones. Mine is in perfect condition, but after not even a week he has a dent in the center of the back and a small scratch on the front. Wtf, is he playing catch with it or some shit? I'm not exactly using the thing lightly. Also an update on the HTC Sync issues I was having - I took a break from trying to fix it because it frustrated me, but it seems to have fixed itself. The last few times I've connected it, it's been working.
the gpu was never a problem for me (yet!) and the battery gets me through a normal routine day, so i really don't need it to have 80680mAh
I am pretty sure that both the Galaxy S and Galaxy Nexus use a PowerVR SGX 540. Except the one in the Nexus is overclocked or something.
You can only have one of these phones. Which would you choose? Which would you choose if your first priority was battery life? (I'm willing to consider an iPhone 4S, which is also $100.)
did you just say the n4 has bad design my word [editline]25th April 2013[/editline] and post the S4 in the same sentence, even worse
Oops, good point, the S4 is much worse. [editline]25th April 2013[/editline]
what the fuck?
The Nexus 4 has no LTE, except by hacking, a terribly calibrated screen (worse than that of the Optimus G, despite being the exact same screen), and only up to 16gb of storage. With the relative ease you can get most phones on an AOSP ROM, or something like one, I do not see why one would need to get a Nexus 4, unless you factor in the fact it is amazingly cheap for its specs. Don't do the RAZR. The Maxx has amazing life, but the regular RAZR's life is shit.
Don't do the RAZR. The Maxx has amazing life, but the regular RAZR's life is shit.
I'd do the Maxx but it's $100 over my budget.
I am pretty sure that both the Galaxy S and Galaxy Nexus use a PowerVR SGX 540. Except the one in the Nexus is overclocked or something.
Yup. It really sucks at 720p, being a chip designed for WVGA phones like the original S1 and Nexus S. Even if the Nexus 4 didn't have the very powerful CPU and RAM amount advantage it'd still run significantly better than the Gnex because of the Adreno 320. The N4 is honestly the only product Google makes with a good enough graphics chip for what it needs to run on the display, which is good since I think if anything needs really great performance its the phone they sell.
They're both gonna be EOL'ed soon anyway.
The Nexus 4 has no LTE, except by hacking, a terribly calibrated screen (worse than that of the Optimus G, despite being the exact same screen), and only up to 16gb of storage.
Well I don't want to mess around with ROMs. That's a big reason why I'd like the Nexus 4, though I'll break it and I like my phone to be good at showing color so it's a no go personally. Also it's worse than the Optimus G because the N4 gets the bad panels that don't meet certain criteria and get no calibration, and LG puts the better ones into their phone. At $300 it's to be expected though, and it does well at its price point. Oh and I think the LTE hack for band 4 or whatever got disabled in some update since the FCC wasn't happy about it. [editline]26th April 2013[/editline] Like, the Nexus 4 is the best $300 phone. It's basically the only real smartphone at that price point. It' wouldn't even be an okay $600 phone but it's not supposed to be a phone competing there. It's pretty appealing to be able to buy a Nexus 7 tablet and a Nexus 4 phone that both get updates right away and at the same time, run the same UI, the same apps, etc etc, and have it for cheaper than what I'd pay for an S4 alone.
I had the Optimus G for a while and I saw first hand the difference it makes. The colors were wonderful when I got it, but became dull when I converted it to a Nexus 4. Converted it back soon after. Glad to hear why exactly the Nexus 4 has such a terrible screen.
I just need to vent about mah first world problems. 2-3 weeks ago, I was about to order cases for the One. This is literally just 25 dollars for 2 cases. My dad stops me and says that he has a coupon for Amazon from his job, so he says he'll order it through his workplace and we'll get it for free. Because I thought nothing would go wrong, I just said fuck it and told him to go with that. A week ago, he tells me that they didn't process the order. I was already pretty fucking mad because the One was here and I couldn't use it because no way in hell am I risking a 600 dollar phone that's impossible to take apart by not using a case and screen protector. I tell him that I'm going to order it, and then he fucking stops me and promises that he'll get it done. This morning, he tells me that the cases were never ordered. It seriously took every part of my self control to not spend 30 dollars in shipping to overnight the cases because I'm pretty fucking mad that even after literally two weeks of constant nagging, literally nothing was done. [editline]25th April 2013[/editline] Basically, my One has been sitting at home for the past two weeks. I seriously want to get off the 8X because the battery life is pretty piss-poor in standby because WP8 is ridiculously limited and unfinished even if they get the fundamentals right, I can't even figure out what's causing standby drain. The lack of applications basically means that the only notable thing about WP8 is the ProShot camera app. [editline]25th April 2013[/editline] Oh, and I know it's not the phone because the exact same phone with a bigger display set records on Anandtech battery life tests for Android phones.
