Android Thread v. They forgot to frost Android 1.5

The One feels amazingly durable next to my broken Optimus G, so I would not worry too hard about the case. That being said, it is expensive and pretty, so wanting to protect it is definitely valid.

Yeah, but I just can't take that risk. After I saw the teardown, I knew that breaking anything is going to be impossible to fix. Even the speaker grilles, and those are just pieces that are glued on to the front of the phone.
I think I'll get a microfiber pouch for mine for when its in my pocked but other than that I'll not be using a case
So someone tell me if I am an idiot. So my dad wanted to borrow my phone so he could use it to transfer ios apps to android.............................. well fuck.

Transfer? like, how?

I think this is code for "I'm taking your phone, so long gay boys".

If anyone wants a nearly stock unlocked Android phone.

I have no idea, to be completely honest, I have no idea how he even thought of the idea.

That actually looks like a really good phone.
Although I am a bit skeptical as the brand is one of those unknown brands.

if it were htc hard key layout i could maybe deal with it but its some bumfuck backwards layout
0/10 would not hard key
As for it being an "unknown" and "offbrand", yes. But it's a good one. A very good one.
Like "lady that works in the Gucci store thinks the fake purse is the real one" good.
Seriously, though, it's been making waves.

AP posted this on G+. I hate them.

I just posted it because I do like options, especially when there are only a couple high-end Android phones that are truly good being offered in the United States (Galaxy S4 and the HTC One).
Totally worth it especially for your device.
Ok, thanks.
Anyone here did this with this device before? or is there a general guide somewhere?
Which release is even the best one?
Holy shitballs this is so smart.
HTC made a screen time-out mode called auto sleep that instead of depending upon the FFC, it's a gyroscope based system. Screen time-out is one minute, but if you set down the phone so that it's either screen up or down, it will automatically set the timeout to 15 seconds.
It's also not retarded, so if the phone is set on a table and it isn't moved, the timeout stays at 1 minute.
Just bought tasker, IT IS AMAZING
ParanoidAndroid's Hybrid mode looks like ass on 800x480

I'm a huge idiot and don't know how to fiddle with tasker at all... But I still got it during that sale though! Just haven't done anything with it yet...

I'm just getting around on how to use it, but I made it so that when I connect my charger my phone closes 3G and starts using WiFi instead, and when I disconnect the charger it changes back to 3G and closes WiFi.
I also made it open my music player when I connect earphones

'Nearly Stock Android Phone'
It runs MIUI.
It doesn't run MIUI, it looks like MIUI though.
That Oppo phone does 120fps recording, that's pretty cool. Although their marketing is sort of contradictory when they say it's five times what the eye can perceive, since even if that was the truth it'd mean there's not really any point in having 120fps recording beyond slowmo videos and freeze frames.
It doesn't run MIUI, it looks like MIUI though.
How can you be sure though? I don't think it runs MIUI, but I can't see any app drawer which tells me that it is MIUI. Though the icons are kind of organized and not all cluttered together, so I don't think it runs MIUI.

Nevermind, saw the app drawer now. Weird placement and weird icon.

I remember watching a review of it, and apparently it just runs a custom skin created by Oppo, that does look like MIUI, but is definitely not
[editline]26th April 2013[/editline]
It looks like a great phone though, and also a good music player

So the launcher is a ripoff of MIUI which is a ripoff of iOS? Fooled me anyway, I thought it was MIUI like those Xiaomi phones. Well anyway it still looks like a cool phone, but I have to wonder how good the update support would be from this relatively unheard of company.

Oh alright. Their skin was ugly then. :v:
If the build quality is good, the hardware is as they promise and developers create stuff for it, it could become my next phone.

Yeah it's ugly, but then again it's also Android, so you don't have to deal with how it looks if you don't want to :v:
