How the fuck? I thought only HTC had issues with SIM cards.

IT BEGINS
Also, the S4 has a locked bootloader. I love how people are sticking their heads in the sand and trying to ignore that fact.
They just had to do that when S4 display is actually decent in movie mode. Hilariously it bucks the trend Samsung has kept going by setting the white point to damn near perfect. The only issue will be how the colors change over time and still the gamut being too large but not as large as usual. But anyway the HTC One still trumps the phone in so many other ways, and I mean, I don't know why I'd get an Android phone with a locked bootloader.
The One has an unlockable bootloader, though sometimes you need to flash kernels with fastboot.
I'd be buying the 64GB developer edition.

So I finally got my first call. I was the only survivor.

It's almost never that you have to do that, boot is unlocked for flashing in recovery now.

One neato thing is that the Dev edition gets RUUs straight from HTCDev. I like how they're actually supporting their phones now.
Alright, I'm at a complete loss right now. I think my phone is fucked.
I had been getting some shitty battery life, so I figured I'd restart the battery (let it drain to 5%, then turn phone off and let charge overnight)
However, I let it drain to 15%, I turn off the phone, and then connect the charger. The phone then turns on by itself. No battery screen, just turns on.
An interesting note, the xbox (where the USB cord is connected to) also turns on by itself once the phone has booted up into CM 10.0
USB charger goes as follows Xbox-->Cord--> SGS2
Random start ups goes as follows SGS2, fully booted --> xbox.
It also refuses to charge, its been stuck at 15% for the past hour
Things I've tried:
Stock ROM
Re-flash of CM10
Removing the battery during boot to force a turn off
stock USB cord
Aftermarket USB cord
Wall adapter with BOTH cords
Reflashed back to my backup CM 10
Battery widget reports that it is charging at n/a speed.
what the fuck is wrong with my phone? I have done literally nothing in the past week to it, and now it just decides that it never wants to charge anymore?
[editline]27th April 2013[/editline]
Is the phone just sending out a charge instead of receiving it maybe? idk just freaking out atm
Maybe you put it on backwards
I do that with my shirts a lot, it's kind of embarrassing.
-snip been tried-
Just got Play Store 4.0.26 pushed to my phone. It looks fucking shit with all the huge cards and grey text everywhere. Information density went down and so did readability. Also everything being white/grey is stupid on my AMOLED screen (not that the old version helped here either).

I just installed it manually to try it out, I don't think it's that bad
I kinda preferred the darker scheme and smaller icons, but whatever, at least I don't have to scroll a billion times to get through the app categories
My phone app stopped working completely today, i could receive calls, but they couldn't hear me and i couldn't hear them. I could send calls, but the app took several seconds to do anything, no dial tone, no sound, no mic.
I thought it was ParanoidAndroid since it's a new problem, so i nuked the contents of my phone, did a fresh install of PA and discovered that the phone was still unusable, i could still text and use data. I factory reset the phone one more time and flashed the newest CM10.1 nightly, Phone still out to lunch.
Most of the links on google said to reboot several times, battery pull, factory reset etc. Turns out, because the Lockscreen clicky sound was off, CM went full sperg

And calling is broken again, i'm going to try some new kernels

good job fruit ninja
I have no idea why but my phone keeps on dieing on me now, like I turn it on and the screen doesn't turn on but the captivate keys light up. Then it completely breaks. Gotta pull out the battery every time. Happen like 5 times now.
the end is near
I know it's going to be tough, but remember that your dear potato has served you well.
Here, dig it a nice grave:

So I've rooted my S3 4G finally and I want to get cyanogenmod but I'm unsure what version to get,
Galaxy s3 international or Galaxy s3 LTE
The LTE cyanogen only has nightly builds and the international latest stable one is from like 10 months ago.
I'm in sweden if it matters.
Meh.
I think PlayStore would look much better if it followed the standard holo thing with black and blue.
Honestly most apps that use that "basic holo" blue UI seem very lazily done. Not to mention that it wouldn't fit for something like the Play Store at all.
I want a nice looking weather widget for my homescreen. If somebody has a clock+weather widget they recommend I'll take it because it's hard to find nice looking ones on the app store for some reason....
[editline]27th April 2013[/editline]
I'm using Eye In The Sky Weather right now. It's pretty nice.

Green holo? :v:
I like holo. A dark themed Play store with blue holo lines, minimalistic design, looks good in my head. But I understand that it might not fit the Play store.
Or if Google really wanted to they could just add different skins to use in the settings so that everyone is happy.
Great, after rooting phone it will no longer read my sim card. Any ideas?
Galaxy S3 4G on JB.
When I get a new phone, my old phone will become a live webcam of some sort, pointing at the sky or something. Maybe use it as a goPro.

You need the build for the i9305.

Also, the sheer amount of rage people have over the One's metal body actually dissipating the heat generated from the SoC/battery is hilarious. People claim to be all educated and smart and shit, but apparently people don't understand that the GS4 is not magically excluded from heating up, and that the GS4 is going to have lots of issues with throttling. Samsung just caps brightness as soon as the phone starts heating up past a certain point to try and avoid downclocking the SoC.
