Did this sound ridiculous to anyone else?
Just the way he phrased it...
Also, Lynx is tiny.
Yeah I thought so too. Should have said "what OS you running on it?". Guess his avatar represents his gangster IQ.
lul just make your own 'lightweight' browser in delphi :buddy:
Some legacy version of Firefox would be adequate.
k-melon is what I use on my laptop but it's nearly as old as yours.
Chrome doesn't work on 2000 from what I've heard, and is designed for more powerful systems. If you want one that renders everything like images and stuff, I guess Opera would be a good choice. But I suggest looking at and trying everyone else's suggestions.
As far as I know it would run (with some quirks of course), but the installer just doesn't let you install it.
Google Chrome
Netscape Navigator

Cause delphi is shit?
Well so far Opera seems to be running nice (I shut off the special effects and shit and shut the special theme off) seems to be running nicely...as for Lynx it's a bit too stripped down (lol) I still like images and the like

How 'bout notepad? Or any other text editor? Just open up the HTML, and there you go!
All you need to do is mentally render HTML and reconstruct the visuals and tables in your head or on graph paper or something. You can even download the images with MSpaint and print them out, and then cut and paste onto your graph-paper web-page.
It's fully CSS compliant, too!

Make that a 8 and I agree. For his box though, I'm not sure what he'd use.
I see some people are suggesting Linux...I guess since all I do on the thing is browse the net before going to sleep and do an occasion text document (solved by using open office I guess) what should I use? What I am most afraid of is the drivers for the ethernet converter not working...and please give me a direct link to any OS you recommend...I hate looking for the newest release of a Linux OS

Google Chrome, if It'll run.

this is the worst post ever
If you're going to try running Linux on it, I'd suggest you use Puppy Linux!
http://www.puppylinux.org/
I had it running on my old 850 MHz 256MB laptop, ran damn fast and detected all the hardware. Its quite simple to set up, detects USB, Ethernet, you can manually set screen resolution (which for my laptop Linux distros seem to get pissy about detecting), and the browser is very quick (stripped down Firefox I think). It runs off a CD, and there's a great guide to install it. Its a very light distro, taking up only 80 MB, but it has office apps and -very- low system requirements (i386, 16MB RAM), so it should easily run on your laptop.
But he might not be HTML4.0 compliant
Fuck HTML4.0, XHTML 1.0 is where it's at :respek:
