It's cleaner because Apple obsesses over the UI and makes sure it is polished as hell, and developers take note of this and follow this standard (mostly). I mean you still have shit like the Win 95 recycle bin icon kicking about in Windows, and bunches of other legacy cruft. I know that MS is a slave to backwards compatibility as far as they can manage (for the most part) but sometimes things need shaking up, something that Apple with it's smaller userbase can do time and time again keeping everything modern and fresh. And it's a solution because if you buy a Mac, Apple will install software before hand, they'll offer you tech support and discounts on printers and other accessories. Granted it is mostly Apple software and Apple accessories, but it all counts towards the solution they provide to people. And I never said Windows and Linux don't work, I'm just saying Apple aren't as useless as you seem to think
This man knows what he's talking about.
This man knows what he's talking about.
I would have to disagree. I can't stand osx's ui.
I would have to disagree. I can't stand osx's ui.
it might have been sarcasm, I can't tell derp text based communication
What's wrong with WinZip? I prefer it to WinRar and 7zip.
last time i used it it had a horrible interface. EDIT: ooo but now it has win7 support. interesting.

eh the icons are bad And the only thing I really dig about macs is the menubar, as it's a bit faster to use - yay devoted screen edge than cannot be overshot. And Hierarchal menus. Otherwise win>mac :) Also before mac = design gods - I think the keyboard screams opposite.
Brawn GP fuck yeah...
I remember watching Australia and thinking, how many people are being executed at Ferrari right now?
No need for anti virus, no disk fragmentation, exposé, completely 64-bit, super smart battery saving (os x on a normal laptop will give you longer battery life) If your computer running os x will die because of no battery or other reason, it will resume exactly from where it died, even playing youtube videos and so on. Only things I see windows doing better is gaming and server hosting.
'The hell are you talking about? Now you're telling me Apple puts non-fragging hard drives in their computers? And it being completely 64-bit only instills more compatibility problems, with Windows you have a choice. Not even going to comment on the battery saving, and there are programs for Windows that can do what you talked about with resuming your session. The only reason there's no need for antivirus is because no one gives a fuck enough to plague the 400 people that use Macs. And you don't need antivirus with Windows as long as you don't try and install "Windows Anti Virus 2009".

OS X automatically defrags every file under 20MB as soon as it is saved or opened IIRC. It's not the hard drives themsevles that cause fragmentation, it's how the OS uses it. 2. 64 bit can run 32 bit programs and you won't even notice. Safari on OS X is 64 bit yet open a new process for 32 bit plug ins (like flash) to maintain compatibility. Windows doesn't do this. 3. I have no idea how well Hackintoshes perform in terms of battery life, but OS X on a Macbook is pretty clever with battery, though it's been years since I've used Windows on a proper laptop, so maybe Win 7 has caught up. 4. Why have a program for resuming your session when you battery runs out? Why can't the OS do this itself? Seems a pretty obvious feature. 5. Marketshare is a factor in the lack of malware on OS X, and I know Snow Leopard is missing things like ASLR, but it's still pretty secure with it's sensible approach to permissions and file downloads etc. Comparable to Windows in this respect really.. And even if the lack of viruses was down to lack of motivation, that still doesn't change the fact you don't need AV for Mac. Who cares about the reason I don't get viruses? The fact is I don't. End of.

I don't need AV for windows either. and someday there will be a good mac virus, and I will laugh at all the whining people saying "but macs dun get viruses :("
I can has?
Jolly Rotten, my good sir. The actual image size is smaller, so I had to upscale it and blur it slightly for it to look alright.
