All Vista themes work on all versions of Vista. Some need a modified .dll file to work.

Add widgets to the desktop by right clicking the rainmeter icon, then go to configs, select your skin, find the widget you want, and click on the ini file. It's a little unpolished, but it's easy enough. Once you're done placing the items, I recommend turning off 'draggable' in the options for each widget, so they seem like a part of your desktop.
