get the 920, i doubt the early 930s will OC as good as the current 920s/early D0s
i3 530 is good shit @ 125 bucks [quote]Final Words I like the Core i3 530. It’s the first real alternative Intel offers to AMD’s Phenom II X2 and Athlon II X4 processors. And dare I say that it’s perfectly competitive? With Clarkdale I get the feeling that Intel is actually trying to compete with AMD, instead of run them into the ground. If you need a fast dual-core processor, the Core i3 530 is right for you. If you need affordable threaded performance, the Athlon II X4 is a better option. Intel attempts to sweeten the deal with TrueHD/DTS-HD MA bitstreaming support, but ultimately what we have here is a chip that is truly competitive. excellent, my plan appears to be falling through quite nicely. just got an i7-920. i'll hold onto it for about a year or something (maybe just 8 months who knows) and move onto the gulftown. which was the original plan. [editline]12:53AM[/editline] not sure why someone felt i deserved a dumb rating, care to explain?
someone thought you were dumb, and others just gave you a dumb to see if you would whine about it (and you did)
no i didn't whine about it, i asked about the first one, because it doesn't make sense, and then i guess the other three thought it'd be really cool to chime in.
Can we finally get over 4GHz processors. I know it doesn't mainly bring any more power, but I want to see big numbers!

bump, I'm a bit late to realize that all i3s have 4 threads. Not sure what intel is doing with their naming system.. here are some benchmarks for the Core i3 530. 3DMark Vantage Performance preset, HD 4770 i3 530 @ 4GHz CPU Score 10971 CPU Test 1: 1516.90 PLAN/S CPU Test 2: 14.57 VS Xeon X3440 @ 3.6 (I think?) CPU Score: 23005 CPU Test 1: 3234.52 Plans/s CPU Test 2: 29.21 Steps/s They preform very closely when I divide the X3440s score in half (expected that the x3440 has double the threads and double the cores, ) X3440 vs i3 530 14.605 vs 14.570 As for SuperPi, I get 10.468 seconds @ 4GHz. According to HWBot an E8400 has to be @ 4.4-4.75 GHz to reach 10.4XX seconds.
