I have always been able to access my routers' configuration pages by typing 192.168.1.1 in either firefox or IE. I have tried it again now and it doesn't work. I type it, press enter, then nothing loads. It is not my browser. Yes I have typed ipconfig ect. it is all 192.168.1.1 still. I recently hooked up a fast XP computer and I was wanting to run a garry's mod server off of it, but I can't change the port forward settings.
maybe someone set it to another IP.
Try and reset the router.
maybe someone set it to another IP.
Nobody has touched it, and it's encrypted.
It's 192.168.2.1
Or 10.1.1.1
It's 192.168.2.1
No
Or 10.1.1.1
No
type "ipconfig" in a command console, the router's IP address will be the gateway address.
Open cmd, type "ipconfig" use the IP next to "Default Gateway". [editline]09:43PM[/editline] Ninja'd
Default Gateway............. 192.168.1.1 Do I need to reset router?
Try 192.168.0.1, and 192.168.1.245.
Nothing
This probably isn't it, but all I can think of is to check your hosts file to see if 192.168.1.1 is getting redirected.
Default Gateway............. 192.168.1.1 Do I need to reset router?
Yeah you should try that.
default gateway should be 192.168.1.1/24 are you trying on wired or wireless
default gateway should be 192.168.1.1/24 are you trying on wired or wireless
Yeah try connecting to it directly using a wired connection.
It is wired. Always has been
double check that 192.168.1.1 actually exists by pinging it from cmd:
ping 192.168.1.1
if that doesn't work, then your router is NOT 192.168.1.1, if it is, there's something up with your browser/other settings
Have you tried turning it off and on again? If so, try doing a hardware reset. This will put everything back to factory settings so make sure you know your connection details for your ISP. You can find out how to hardware reset by looking at the manual or by using google.

When I type it in firefox, press enter, the webpage changes and is blank. No loading signs after that

I would suggest just unplugging the power from the router for a few minutes and then plugging it back in and try again after a few minutes. (Gotta let the router boot up.)

Have you tried changing firmware on your router? Did you Ping to the standard gateway like robmaister12 said? Did you put a switch inbetween that might have changed the standardgateway, and are you trying to acces the switch instead...? Did you change any settings in your network configurations like assigning a different standard gateway?
Verify that your modem's IP address is 192.168.1.1. Maybe it's another address.
Was this account created just to poke fun at the other default gateway thread that got bumped from the deep soils of our planet?
