When I connect it to my server FTP host it just fails and then the program crashes without an error message.

Git is divine; it was initially designed and developed by the God himself.
Will this work on a virtual machine?
Hmmm, I can't use it on Windows XP SP3. any feedback?
Will this work on a virtual machine?
It should [editline]9th June 2011[/editline]
Hmmm, I can't use it on Windows XP SP3. any feedback?
Any more specific info?
Will this work on a virtual machine?
Yes why not?
Hmmm, I can't use it on Windows XP SP3. any feedback?
What is the problem exactly? I haven't tested on XP, but as long as you have .Net 4.0 it should work just fine...
Will this work on a virtual machine?
It wouldn't be a very good virtual machine otherwise..
Well, following john's guidelines, I've created a new logo (and probably the official) for FTPbox along with some icons... http://dl.dropbox.com/u/25318683/Logo%282%29.png The icons have differences with the logo because they're outdated in this image... http://dl.dropbox.com/u/25318683/Icons%282%29.jpg
Also comment on slogan ("Your files, boxed") apart from icons themselves. I really like barttool's work on the icons, I hope you'll agree with me on that so we can make those official...
Screw the Icons. The programs needs an update.
My exams are over as of today, so expect an update soon...
Well, I agree on that, It currently as many bugs, some of them: -Doesn't open on system startup (even when I tell it to) -Tray menu sometimes runs slow -Have to manually close the program otherwise windows won't shut down But I'm sure these issues will be fixed very soon, but we need more people on the team, helping with these things.
Yes why not? What is the problem exactly? I haven't tested on XP, but as long as you have .Net 4.0 it should work just fine...
What features are you using from .Net 4? Or even 3.5?
Barttool's icons are great.
What features are you using from .Net 4? Or even 3.5?
He keeps being updated. You should too. Why would someone still use xp?
He keeps being updated. You should too. Why would someone still use xp?
I don't know if you've programmed before, but that's a really bad analogy. There's no benefits to running an app on .NET 3.5 or .NET 4.0 if you're not using its features. "20 Smartness" is asking a totally legitimate question here. EDIT: I went through the code and it'd be pretty easy to make it run on .NET 2.0. I'm not sure how his resources are setup (I haven't used those a lot), but the only real code change would be to make Extensions.cs a utility function.
Do everyone a favor and move to the lowest possible framework that the app requires.
Huh. I downloaded this app, tried to add my FTP account. I mistyped my account name at first so it crashed, then I opened it again and typed everything right, and it just closed on me. Now if I try to open, a white window flashes for a brief second then closes :saddowns: [editline]10th June 2011[/editline] Also where is the account data saved? I wanna try deleting it to see if it helps.
Also the data is saved inside the app, you'll have to move the exe to another directory so all data is reset...
No John it is not. Stop being silly.
That's weird :S Also the data is saved inside the app, you'll have to move the exe to another directory so all data is reset...
Tried that. Typed in my login (correctly), program went to the taskbar, flashed and then went away :saddowns:
Ok first of all, sorry for the delay, but: 1. exams 2. had to solve a shitton of problems to get subdirectories to work So, you guessed it, new release (v1.6), and subdirectories now work like a charm. Well, some bugs might still exist, but that's why it's still in beta, right? Also in version 1.6: - New awesome icons, created by barttool! - Offline mode fixed. And, thanks to FlamingSpaz's donation, FTPbox now has its own website! You can learn more about it and download the new version from: http://ftpbox.org Hope you enjoy! (Awaiting feedback)

Great success I see
If you won't mind it, I'd like to look at the code and maybe find ways to get it working on Linux.
This just turned awesome. [editline]17th June 2011[/editline] nice and stable. I see all my sub directories getting updated :downs:
If you won't mind it, I'd like to look at the code and maybe find ways to get it working on Linux.
Go to google code ftpbox page and have a look?
Go to google code ftpbox page and have a look?
That is what I'm doing, but there's no harm in being friendly and informing people about it :)
