Bill Gates disagrees
Except he agrees, because his kids gotta make it big on their own. He aint gonna pay for them to live in luxury when they're older. Also he donated much of his money to charity. Nice try though.

I dunno how not giving tons of money to his kids counts as a hassle.
too much of anything is bad. Although I do understand Johan because he's broke as hell.
Well sorry for not being born in a first class american family.
Well anyway, let's get back on topic here... :buddy: BTW, I added tweet/like buttons to ftpbox.org. Spread the word, people!
Can you please add SSH File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) support?
Well sorry for not being born in a first class american family.
I'm broke as fuck too, but I still don't want a shitload of cash. As long as I can pay the bills and have fun then I don't give a fuck, I just wanna have a good time with minimum worries.
Can you please add SSH File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) support?
It's on the to-do list.
I can't delete files from my folder. :psyduck:
I can't delete files from my folder. :psyduck:
1. What do you mean? You delete a file, and it gets restored? 2. Is the file in a subdirectory of the local ftpbox path, or in root? 3. Try deleting it again, and see if it works. I'll try to fix that though. Waiting for your reply...
Update on me looking at the code. Due to too much stress from work and family and everyone else around me, and a project I've got going myself as well, I can't really port this to linux for the next very long time. Sorry. :smith:

Yeah, I've had an issue where I make a new text file, rename it, and it gets deleted and the "New Text Document.txt" takes it place.
Ok so... I put up a new ftp server, forward both active and passive ports, create a user, give that user permission to modify it's home directory, and attempt to connect (both locally and externally) and it does not work. It says that I do not have permission to modify the directory. Any ideas? Server configuration below: SERVER CONFIGURATION Freebsd 8.1 Server Using ftpd file transfer server Using OS users User home directory set to path I want ftpchroot set on those users I can use a standard ftp client and have full permissions (7) in the home directory and all subdirectories

But I think I know how I can prevent it from happening, so you and others getting this error will be able to use FTPbox without problems. Update on the development of FTPbox: I am now almost done adding two more translations for FTPbox (Spanish and German). Once done with that, I'll also fix what chief reported and then make a release, which will also have some other bugs fixed (not allowing windows to shut down and some other, less important)
I just released v1.6.2. It comes with: 1. Fixed: not allowing windows to shut down 2. (hopefully) fixed: not opening on windows start-up 3. (hopefully) fixed: throwing an error on start-up when the ftp account controls the root but creating a folder on root is not allowed. 4. 2 more languages: FTPbox is now available on German and Spanish along with English. You can change the language from the program's options! For numbers 2,3, I say 'hopefully fixed' because I was not getting those errors myself, so I couldn't check if they're fixed now either. But I changed what I thought was wrong, so hopefully they are fixed now. To those that had one of these problems, check if the new version fixed them, and report back here!
In this release menus work faster, but the program still doesn't open at start up :smith:
FTPBox seems to behave better when it's run as admin. Cant wait for the web browser :v:
FTPBox is excellent, been using it for a while. A few issues though, when I create a directory on anything other than windows explorer it will error the fuck out and crash and sometimes even when I create a directory in windows explorer.
The web developer decided to remake the web interface, and considering the last version he gave me wasn't that safe, I decided to not release it now but wait for new version. I am now working on SFTP support, which will be the new feature in the next version... And it's almost ready :D
yay its released, SFTP works fine.
yay its released, SFTP works fine.
It's not officially released, I just made a beta release for beta testing with only syncing local changes to remote working. I still have to make it work the other way around, and for some reason I get weird errors when trying to implement that... Anyway, I'll give it much time tomorrow as I'll have plenty of free time!
Yeah, local to my server STFP works. Cant wait to see the next version.
Is there anyway to allow syncing while your program which creates the files is running? For some reason it refuses to sync until the program is closed.

It's finally here: version 1.7 What's new? 1. SFTP Support added! 2. FTPbox is now not portable, but a setup. Big advantage: you won't have to update manually anymore and set it up again after each update 3. Other bugs fixed... you can find it at http://ftpbox.org Needless to say that it's still in beta, so it could have bugs... If you find any, let me know in the bug tracker!
You should still release a portable version, just keep the installer as the main version.
A portable version would consist of 4 files, 5 with the XML config file. Should I make them a zip and call it portable?
