I have Linux on my laptop, I might test it there. I don't think it corrupted since the actual .rar isn't corrupted but I could be wrong.

But maybe you should read this:

I went to the Linux forum a while ago and asked the same question. They said Mint. I've never been able to try it, but it seems to have installed fine.

I say it's pretty decent.
I've read that multiple times over. Windows Disk Image tells me it's invalid and I downloaded a specific program called Windows Image Writer as stated in the post and it writes different partitions onto my flash drive and still doesn't make it bootable.
I have same question, gonna try Chromium OS. Also, I want to know is there a antivirus for Chromium? I want to be sure that if my PC will get a bad virus, then I can put in my flash drive and scan my PC.
Why would you need an anti-virus for a Linux based OS? You don't have to worry about it in most cases.
I mean a virus scanner. If my computer fill get infected with a shitty virus what kills windows, I can use the scanner on my flash drive and scan my pc, get rid of virus and restore windows, simple?

Have you even enabled USB booting in the BIOS? Double check.
I put Xubuntu on a 2GB flash drive. I have about 1 GB of space left for any files I want. Its not much but I can bypass shit school rules and such.
yeah, i'd go with DSL

DSL hasn't been updated for quite a while
Linux Mint 10.
It's stable, easy on the eyes, comes with Codecs, java, flash, etc pre-installed, and is very easy to use. About as easy as Windows XP, and a uses similar amount of resources. 4GB of space required for installation, 320~512MB RAM, 800x600 resolution minimum... and the CD ISO is only 700MB unless you get the 800MB DVD ISO and install it to the flash drive using Unetbootin. The CD ISO doesn't have java and a few other minor things that the DVD ISO has.
