FREEWARE != GPL
So?
I love pidgin, I set it up so when people click on my name to start typing it sends them a message first.
What is on this thread then?
Free Software
Free software works, but freeware doesn't.
Free software works, but freeware doesn't.
Freeware = free software.
you best be trollin'...
Free software works, but freeware doesn't.
This thread isn't about free software (as in GNU free) so what else are we supposed to call it? Freeware = software you don't have to pay money for, that's a good enough definition for this thread.
Free-distribution works best.
Free-distribution works best.
Not really, that sounds like you're allowed to distribute it to other people yourself which isn't always the case (e.g. free VMware products).

You do
no you don't
Winrar for "File Compression and Extraction"
Winrar for "File Compression and Extraction"
Shareware.
More like nagware, but yeah
Shareware.
No it's sadware. It makes you feel sad every time you click out of the expiration menu.
Winrar > Compression software
Winamp is also a good music player.
Wasn't there a semi-popular program for downloading drivers that was freeware?
PeaZip looks awesome.
I'd also like to find one of those driver searcher freeware. ^
No.
So you mean freeware must be programs that is proprietary?
I would suggest the KM Player. It's better than VLC for playing .mkv files.
You forgot to add to VLC media player that it takes two clicks to add subtitles.
Also, although open office sounds cool, I find that it really annoying to use compared to MS office.

Digsby.

VLC is the best media player ever
VLC is the best media player ever
Yup.

:smug:
VLC's god-tier for video, though.
Sorry to disappoint you but winamp is the worst music player ever
Sorry to disappoint you but winamp is the worst music player ever
So you think Realplayer, WMP, and iTunes are better than Winamp then?
Sorry to disappoint you but your opinion is the worst opinion ever.
and Foobar is great but it doesn't have enough adoption for me to want to use it on a daily basis (where's my chiptune plugins and my vent integration? I've only found a few of the first and the second is unsupported)
Sorry to disappoint you but winamp is the worst music player ever
Yes its related to AOL so you know it has sloppy coding.
Yes its related to AOL so you know it has sloppy coding.
Are you being sarcastic or do you actually believe something like that
AOL owns Nullsoft but the fact they're a separate development team should nullify worries that AOL is shitting it up past making them add their dumb AOL radio as one of the options in the library.
VLC is the best media player ever
In the past VLC has been terrible for HD video since it had no GPU acceleration, looks like they're finally starting to add it in so this may actually be true soon.
Peazip is simply the best compression software.
It supports a wide range of formats, and has shell integration if you really want it.
Nice interface, too.
It's under LGLP.
