• Mechanical Keyboard Megathread v4 - *click clack* BUY A SWITCH TESTER
I'm selling a custom built 60% that uses the Poker II PCB + Plate, with this silver aluminum case and Vintage MX Blacks with clear switch tops, SIP sockets, lube, 35g spring swap, and switch stickers. I was originally asking $400, but after I thought about it, I realized that I needed the money quite badly. I had gotten no offers so far, so I rethought my emotional attachment to the board and dropped the price to $300. It was here that I got a PM from a guy asking if I would take 100 dollars.... Anyway, I'm trying to sell it for 250 now and haven't gotten any interest yet. Levelog was interested in buying it, but some stuff came up and he wasn't able to purchase it. [editline]3rd March 2017[/editline] what's your DD kb?
Yeah I just got my fucking windshield cracked by a rock on the highway too. I just can't win.
RF87u, how much?
Thinking $190 with shipping.
Yeah I just got my fucking windshield cracked by a rock on the highway too. I just can't win.
i know that feel, man. it fucking sucks
I'd have to spent 10% of the price of a realforce RGB to get a tester that actually has a topre switch on it and honestly I don't think it's worthwhile. Why the fuck is it so expensive, it doesn't even have a PCB, the switches do nothing.
Realforce RGB is honestly garbage from the sound alone...
Here's a list of all the topre keyboards available in this wonderful technology backwater: [t]https://www.helifreak.club/image/20170304030037701.png[/t] People said the type heaven is shit so I don't really have many options here.
Speaking of sound, does anyone know of any good "thocky" keyboards, I've always used more higher pitched "clicky" keyboards (Cherry Reds, Blacks, Gateron Blues) and I want a little bit more thock in my life, ALPS are a good example of muh thock, but I hear that they're very finicky about dust, I know Matias switches exist but I've heard generally mixed things about them.

Realforce. Boards with heavy Zealios.
Low hardness orings can improve the thock quality of cherry switches considerably too.
O-rings make bottoming out feel really bad though, IMO. It goes from a solid, definite feeling of hard plastic hitting hard plastic, to gross squishiness like your switch is gummed up with something nasty.

So uh, the Realforce that I purchased wasn't actually just the variable weighted one. It's the factory silenced one too, the one that MSRP's off of Elitekeyboards for $285 :v:
Any y'all got experience with gat blacks? I'm loving the ergoclear life, but my wallet really, really isn't so I thought I'd give linears a try on my next board and save myself $80AU.

What's with this new Wooting thingy?
Gateron Linears are better than Cherry MX Linears.
yes, I just picked up a g80-1800 and its scratchy af
About a week or so until I have Amazing Chocolatier in my possession. [editline]8th March 2017[/editline] Also here's a picture of said board [t]http://i.imgur.com/AKBqv66.jpg[/t] Factory silenced plate mounted topre- never in my life have I typed on anything like this. I'm going to lube this baby up real good ASAP.
So anyone here used a Cooler Master Masterkeys Pro? Probably gonna RMA this Shine 5 before the warranty runs out since I know the LEDs are only gonna keep failing, don't think I can be fucked trying another one of their backlit boards Wish I could keep this damn spacebar though, it's so good looking :v:

Anybody got a turtlebeach impact 500? Thoughts? If I got one, could I buy a keycap set and swap them over? Been out of the mech keyboard loop since like early 2014 when I bought a poker II and then sold it (which I know hugely regret as I want it for programming)

Got my Z70 today with Gateron Greens, it's not that bad to type on but it needs new feet really badly, they're unstable which makes it uneven, I just pulled the feet off for now and I am typing with it on my lap. The cable is also really short which is quite an annoyance.
Can't you just play Russian style with it?
I tried it but it was relatively uncomfortable given the unusual layout and the unevenness of the surface when I'm playing Russian. I'll just give it a little bit of love and it'll all be fine.

Finally got the right tool from aliexpress to open up my model ms [t]https://dl2.pushbulletusercontent.com/xb5tu2JHVGJtMqiMpDVANRzV8LbuK2Mj/IMG_20170310_133549.jpg[/t] Now for cleaning off the 20yo crap that's in there and do some mods like changing the led color
My Model F was held together by like 2 flatheads :v:
