So I got a Logitech g810 a couple of days ago in the Amazon warehouse deals for £70 which is really nice and I like the minimalist style and the volume rocker and dedicated media keys but I'm tempted to return it and try a CM Masterkeys Pro S TKL (available for £89) There seems to be a lot of tribalism when it comes to mechanical boards and while you can't get custom keycaps for the Logitech Romer-G switches they do seem really nice for what they are despite not being cherry based.
I mean that is Logitech's fault for not using cherry stems. Why make keycaps for a stem type that nobody has?
I mean that is Logitech's fault for not using cherry stems. Why make keycaps for a stem type that nobody has?
They do sell Cherry based keyboards too. I think the Romer-G is better suited to LEDs with no light leakage which tbh I don't care that much about. If you look at their page about the switches it explains their design.

Anyone else going to get in on the K-Type? https://www.massdrop.com/buy/massdrop-x-input-club-k-type-mechanical-keyboard?mode=guest_open It uses...Kailh...switches...but they're hot swappable so replacing them should be easy.

The pictures just haven't been updated. I've been debating it but I'm pretty set with my TX87 because I can just switchtop mod them into whatever I want.
If it's Gateron then they haven't updated the product description either.
Woops, I got it mixed up with https://www.massdrop.com/buy/nixeus-moda-pro-mechanical-keyboard?mode=guest_open Regardless, at least its hotswappable, don't know why you'd want Kalih unless it was one of their new switches.

They know most enthusiasts will probably replace the switches and keycaps anyway, but they want to offer included switches and keycaps to give average consumers a complete package, so, cheap Kailhs and Tai-hao it is. I'd prefer it if they'd offer a keyboard-only option without them but eh, what you gonna do?
I'm still trying to sell this fucking keyboard. Am I just bonkers and my price is absolute nonsense? The board is, like I've posted before, a Poker II PCB + Plate with a custom milled aluminum case, vintage MX blacks with clear switch tops, LED SIP sockets, 45g gold korean springs, lubed w/ switch stickers. I'm asking 170 OBO for it and I just had a guy on GH try to lowball me for $100. Right now stock Poker IIs are going for $75 on eBay. I don't think I'm crazy, but it feels like I'm practically giving it away for the price. Am I going off the deep end?
It seems that my G510's rubber domes are starting to give out on some keys, so after 5 years, I guess it's a good time to move to a mechanical keyboard. What would be a good mechanical alternative to the G510? My favourite features of it are the media keys, including the volume scroll and the big-ass mute button. Macro keys I pretty much never used, same with the display. Backlighting would also be nice.

The other keys are good too despite the proprietary switches preventing custom keycaps. Still conflicted atm.
-snip-
Life tip: modifications do not make it worth more, it makes it worth less. Try to sell it for 100 or 125 at the max. Any more is just a ripoff imho.

They aren't fully programmable as opposed to say a Zeal60 or GH60.

Any more is just a ripoff imho.
Sure with cars and such that's how it works. But at least with what I've seen in the MK community it's the opposite. Especially when rare switches or layouts are involved. You may be correct but I'm not willing to sell it for any less than what I've listed it for now, since the price is significantly less than the materials in it.
Maybe because it's still on a poker II pcb? They aren't fully programmable as opposed to say a Zeal60 or GH60.
That's what I'm thinking. I'm honestly tempted to get a GH60 pcb and resolder everything just to see if that changes anything, especially since I don't want to sell it for any less than I have it listed for.

Charging extra for modifications and to cover previous shipping costs is the norm rather than something that won't make your product sell. I honestly don't think I see people taking losses on things they sell on mechmarket ever.

After 10 years of use, my old cheap Logitech keyboard has yet to give up on me, yet I feel like I could go for an MX Brown or Red board or equivalent around the 150€ range. So of course I came to the enthusiasts' corner here for suggestions. If a quality board ends up costing more than my proposed budget, I might discard the budget. (Really I just want to have a keyboard with legs again after I broke them off on my old one some four years ago.(I've mellowed out since then, I promise.))

I struggle to think of any mechanical keyboards with legs, usually the cases come pre-set at an appropriate angle, instead of flat with legs. Maybe Duckys or Filcos have legs?

I've used my monitor's stand as makeshift legs for the longest time.

I've been looking at the Logitech G910 and G810 for the good part of a day, mostly because Logitech hasn't disappointed me hardware-wise so far, and the Romer-G switches seem like exactly the kind of switches I'd enjoy. Duckys and Filcos are also pretty difficult to find in stores, here. I can get the G910 for about 150€, and I'm on the verge of purchase, so I might need a good slap to steer me the right way here.

The time-consuming switches sound good but in practice they aren't that great IMO
So I'm in the market to replace my Razer Blackwiddow Ultimate 2013. I've had enough of the shitty Razer font, and bits and pieces of the bottom, like the legs, are falling apart. I'm not sure about MX Blues. I'm happy to go with something similar. But I'm not sure. Do testers still exist? And what would Facepunch recommend which is reasonably priced (let's work with cherry mx blues or similar)?

Are you looking for full-sized, tenkeyless, or something like 60%?
Full sized keyboard is what I'm after. Where can I find testers? [editline]15th May 2017[/editline] Found cheap testers on eBay. Can only hope that the switches are real
