Oh. Well I don't know what that is. How do I help you? Could it be a game that I'm playing? APB: Reloaded makes my RAM usage go up to 3.2ish because of all the customizations and stuff, not to mention there are more than a hundred players on a server. Maybe having Steam, Chrome, and AIM in the background is overusing my RAM?
Maybe. But that does not explain why CDFS and NPFS crashed on you lol. Do that sfc /scannow and a MalwareBytes-AntiMalware(MBAM) scan on it too.
Ok I'll do MBAM a bit later (playing APB: Reloaded to see how much RAM, also just want to play a bit). Also what is sfc/scannow?
SFC is System File Check. The /scannow switch does a full check over the critical system files. If one file is corrupt, or does not check up it attempts to restore it. So you'll probably need your Windows CD handy.
Any progress Falco?
Just finished breakfast and tried to play some games on the computer with my friend, but guess what :v: I'll find my disk give me a sec. [editline]1st June 2011[/editline] Oh by the way it's OEM not Retail (built my PC), will that be a problem? [editline]1st June 2011[/editline] Can't find my disk. Is there any other option until I do find it? [editline]1st June 2011[/editline] Nvidia control panel says there are new drivers. Could it be because I've been running on old drivers be the problem? I'm gonna download it anyway. (Never mind the drivers were released today, still getting it of course)
no
Falco, download a copy of your windows. You can find it on any torrent site. As long as you retain your original license key, this isn't warez.
Falco, download a copy of your windows. You can find it on any torrent site. As long as you retain your original license key, this isn't warez.
This, also be sure to get an unmodified MSDN image and verify the MD5.
I'll continue looking for my CD tomorrow. I know it's in the case with all my spare GPU, CPU, etc. If I lost that whole case...
Here's a Windows 7 .iso: http://techpp.com/2009/11/11/download-windows-7-iso-official-direct-download-links/ I've been running of it since ~october, and it's not fishy at all. You'll have to have your own key aswell, and I guess that's probably the reason why it isn't taken down by Microsoft or something. Or use this: http://www.mydigitallife.info/download-windows-7-iso-official-32-bit-and-64-bit-direct-download-links/
He can also disable the automatic restart or right click mycomputer then go to manage then go to event viewer to see what is going on exactly.
He can also disable the automatic restart or right click mycomputer then go to manage then go to event viewer to see what is going on exactly.
Dude, read the thread. We already got the BCC's.
Got my Windows 7 disk. So sorry, what am I supposed to do again and how?
Got my Windows 7 disk. So sorry, what am I supposed to do again and how?
Open cmd, type sfc /scannow
Got it
Open cmd, type sfc /scannow
Or alternatively, put it in your start->run prompt. Or on Vista and 7, use the unibar on the bottom of the start menu.
30%, but was I supposed to put in the Windows 7 disk first or no? [editline]2nd June 2011[/editline] Verification 100% complete. Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations. [editline]2nd June 2011[/editline] Doing an MBAM test. Should I do Search & Destroy and Avast! while I'm at it after?
SB S&D is crap IMHO. Just use MBAM and Avast/AVG/Nod32 for a AV.
MBAM finally finished, nothing wrong. Now what? Do Avast? Also why is SB&D crap, just want to know.
MBAM does a better job in my experience with both the applications. But sorry dude, I really don't have any suggestions after this point except to back up and reinstall your operating system.
MBAM does a better job in my experience with both the applications. Hopefully it will "just go away" like last month. It could also just be APB since it started when I first got that game. However, although most BSODs came from the game, 2 out of the 6 were outside of the game. Things I'm gonna do: 1) I'll try replugging everything this weekend 2) Wait it out, not use computer for a while 3) System Restore? 4) Lastly, reinstall the whole system (gonna need help with this since I have no idea how to). Do I need another HDD for this? I only got one in this computer. Although I was low on space anyway, might buy a Samsung F3 or something. [editline]2nd June 2011[/editline] Could it also be somehow driver related?

Go into cmd with elevated (admin) privledges. type tasklist > C:\tasks.txt Go to C:\tasks.txt and copy the paste the contents into here with Lua or Code tags
Ok I'll do that when I get back home, which will be a few hours. [editline]2nd June 2011[/editline] By the way Richard, why have I never seen you post in H&S before? Well I basically just stayed in the PC Building section though.
Also a hijackthis log might be useful

Was letting Avast! do it's thing when I get a random restart with this error in black screen (not BSOD): Windows Boot Manager The Windows Boot Configuration Data (BCD) store file contains some invalid information. Object Guid: 7ea2e1ac-2e61-4728-aaa3-896d9d0a9f0e Status: 0x0000034 INfo: The configuration for an element within the object is invalid the boot configuration data store. The associated Windows Boot lOader entry may not be available for selection until the problem is rectified by an administrator. Note: I have used this thing called Daemon Tools or something to play a Rainbow Six Vegas game I torrented. NOT Warez since I had a real CD key that I got from a giveaway. From what I've gathered, the Daemon thingy program makes a "fake" drive that the game plays off of because Ubisoft's security would not let you play a game even with a real key if there is no physical disk inside the PC. I don't know but that's what I think the above error means.
It's almost certainly unrelated, but get rid of Daemon Tools and replace it with http://wincdemu.sysprogs.org/ Sounds like something is very wrong with your disk and/or Windows installation though
So I do have to reinstall? :saddowns: Any idea of what may have caused this? It has been fine for well over a year since I got in December 2009. :flashfap:?
Try a repair install, no idea what the cause or exact problem is.
Try a repair install, no idea what the cause or exact problem is.
How do I repair install? Also, do I need to backup/worry about anything?
