That happens all the time on garrys mod if you try to run it in dx9 on the first gen (black) macbook.

ok so I ran the benchmark again and it ran fine, I have no clue what is going on. If my MacBook is dying it's not all that bad since I'm planning on getting a new computer for Christmas anyways.

Yeah, it is a result of overheating from the GPU. Garry's Mod can be a graphics intensive game resulting in graphical artifaction.

Try running a DX Diagnostic Tool test. If you cannot access the diagnostic tool window by doing this:

Start > Run type dxdiag

then download and install the latest version by googling 'DirectX 9.0c Full.' and trying the above again.
If you are able to access the utility, go to the 'display' tab within the window and run a test by pressing 'Test DirectDraw,' if passed.. Press 'Test Direct3D' and post your results.

Very weird.. I still hold the belief that it is hardware related though. In your spare time, try keep another graphics intensive game other than stalker running for a prolonged period of time to see if you result the same.

ok so I played a little bit of TF2 and a few missions in DoW2 and they ran fine. I guess it was a heat issue.

it was just a heat issue. I got it back to normal, now I just won't play games for an extended period of time.
