I bought my Xbox controller specifically for my PC. It cost a lot less than your wired 360 controller.
i dont care, because my wired controller costs a lot less than a 360 plus a wired controller.
i dont care, because my wired controller costs a lot less than a 360 plus a wired controller.
How much? I got my Xbox 360 controller with wireless dongle for 25 US dollars and some change (no Tax or VAT), shipped from Dell Business.

I suggest looking in stores like K-Mart, Walmart, or Sears to see if their still in stock, if they are, they should be selling at 19.99 or less, since it was suppose to be on clearance since last year. The dongle was replaced by the Xbox 360 Wireless Controller PC bundle. If you need both, you also might want to check ebay since it might be cheaper there, use search term "Xbox 360 Wireless Controller Receiver". [editline]12:11AM[/editline] Also mine from Dell was NEW.

I think it was worth it, and i could afford $40 at the time UT3 for the PC that is. as i still don't own a 360. and wired ones do not require batteries.
*ahem* These are easily available for original xbox and the 360 in most game stores.
mine cost 40 cuz i bought it new. not exactly new, but it was "barely used"
you got ripped off. 40 bucks for an old xbox controller?
you got ripped off. 40 bucks for an old xbox controller?
xbox 360 controller. and it was right after MS stopped making them.
I did this back when we had a thread on it in 05. :smugdog:

GoGamer runs these 48 hour gaming madness things where they generally have nice pricing with games.
I had just about given up on using XBCD on Vista 64. Thank you so very much.
Also, for those who have wireless 360 controllers and wish to use them on your PC: http://www.xbox.com/en-US/hardware/x/xbox360wirelessgamingreceiver/
Somebody will come up with drivers eventually just wait.
There are drivers, called MotioninJoy, but in Windows 7 the program would crash when I tried pairing it.
You can do the inverse in your old Xbox and add Keyboard, Mouse and USB Flash Drive support in your xbox for homebrew apps
I did this internally. I cut up the 4th port and stuck the guts of a 4 port USB hub in it.

For people "like me" who has a strange xbox controller with a RED, BLUE, WHITE, YELLOW, BARE(wire) and BROWN wire. they do not match with the usb one (obviously) but that's how you match them: USB -- Xbox red -- Red Black -- Brown Green -- Blue White -- White the red is the power, black/brown the ground, blue and white are data- and data+. have fun.
I did this internally. I cut up the 4th port and stuck the guts of a 4 port USB hub in it.
Same. Old Xboxs make brilliant Media center boxes if you shove a nice big HDD in them! - Can't believe you can get them (An xbox) for £18 now. [editline]12:53AM[/editline] Also, If you splice a usb extender into the breakout cable you can still use the controller on a normal xbox, except there is a USB join added into the line which can be seperated to allow: Controller on PC (Along with Headsets etc.) Controller on xbox USB Flash drive on xbox Using both ends of one of these... I did that with an old Xbox computer I had in my house, (Never had an Xbox), pretty useful. The connections are coming a bit lose, it disconnects when the cord moves too much.
I keep getting the message when I plug in my controller... "One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and windows does not recognize it." I don't know what to do.
I bought an adapter off eBay that allowed me to hookup controllers and DVD dongles without cutting into them. I already made a USB mod, though I wanted to use my IR dongle and a wireless controller without killing them so I could still use them on my Xbox running XBMC.

Well, I'll keep it here for future reference.
