Looking at the website Blarg190 linked, can someone explain to my why the Ultra Violet LED's are grossly expensive?

Red are. Blue LEDs are actually harder to manufactur and therefore have been "invented" lately (~15 years ago) by a scientists at Nichia in Japan. (Nichia also holds the patent for blue LEDs and got rich because of it. The actual scientist, who invented it got barly anything).

Blue LEDS are annoying, one on my antec 1200 is pointed directly at my eyes, i had to cover it with tape

Agreed, I like seeing the components in my PC window in their real color, not in nightclub colors.
The blue LEDs aren't exactly hard to remove. When I removed them from a cheap case fan, I could have soldered on other LEDs if I wanted to, it gave me a ton of wire.

white LEDs don't show their real color either, fyi. there's too much missing from the color spectrum in most LEDs, so even with white LEDs it'll have a cooler color palette than it has.

Well purple is a mix of red and blue, so it keeps your computer average temperature, and makes it look like a pimp.

I'm not a fan of LEDs, I prefer a very clean, not flashy look. The LED fans on the Rosewill cases are nice though. If you don't like it, spend about $10 on a different fan and replace it.

I always felt like blue leds can be brighter than other colors but almost always be less irritating.

This. I want a case to come with quiet fans with decent airflow. I read pc fan reviews, nearly all manufacturers lie about cfm and noise.
