that is from their site.
saving vital CPU power for game processing tasks and giving this mouse up to twice the processing power compared to other high class gaming mice.
it's what they say, not what I think.
I mean holy shit my quad can barely process a single left click.

I'm still getting the G500, it has more DPI and I really like their placement of the DPI controls.
The Kones lights are gimmicky in my opinion though, even if it is a pretty mouse.
Just out of curiosity, what weights do you use in your G5's? I use all 4.5g's So its heavy as fuck. :keke:
I use the G5

But I also have these:

This one you can just wave it around in the air and it works, so cool. Accelerometers :eng101:
is the mamba any good? i kind of want one.
While I absolutely love mine, I never use the wireless function. If they sold on for $40 less w/o the wireless ability I wouldn't have to think twice.
Everything else about it has been flawless-had mine since release and had no problems (while my G5 by this time was already being shipped back to Logitech =/ )

All optical mice have built in image cpus.
Changes between one frame and the next are processed by the image processing part of the chip on the mouse, putting it on the CPU is a waste of resources.
But of course, your quad can do that :/

yes, all optical mice do, but they don't advertise the fuck out of it with words like turbocore.
I had a G5 but I started getting the disconnecting issue with it and everything I've tried doesn't fix it, so now I'm using a £1.99 HP optical mouse with a DPI of about 5. Not the best for aiming.
The only other problem I had with the G5 was the woven sheath around the wire. I had to transport it a lot to and from uni and the wire would get coiled. Evertually you get irreparable kinks where the wire protrudes through the sheath. Not a major problem but is annoying when they catch on whilst moving the mouse.

They named the processing unit so what? The mouse is bad?
If you buy the mouse for the named stuff then your stupid, but underneath it all it is a great mouse.
I got one of these

I only paid $40 for it though, as at Quakecon steel series was having a deal that if you brought in your old mouse they'd smash it and give you half off on your mouse. I just brought in some old shit that didn't even work anymore :)

Just went out and bought this to replace my Dell mouse :D

Logitech MX400. It was a toss up between that and the RX1000.
Mighty Mouse, I got it in a bundle quite a while ago. It's okay once you figure out how to chord properly with it.

we put a numpad on yo mouse so yo can pad numbers with one hand
seriously who needs that many buttons on their mouse, just get a G11 so you won't press them just by holding it

Who gives a shit what the advertisments are like, I only care about the hardware. I use the Naga in WoW so I have easy access to 12 abilities, while also having 1-5 and shift+1-5 open on my keyboard for anything else I may want/need. Why should I get an G11? Why would I want to take my hand off of WASD to hit a "g key" when they could be on my mouse? ;)
If you hit the buttons on the side from just holding it, maybe you're not used to it or you're gripping to hard.
ITT: People whine cause someone is using a mouse they don't like.
The only reason mice have some many buttons is for MMO's.
They're handy for MMO players.

not always, I like the side buttons on my g9x for grenades and knives in fps's.

My point is that people bitch about everything even remotely related to the Kone and yet I see no one bitching about this which is exactly the same
people treat the Kone like it's the one mouse no one should ever buy and yet all their complaints apply to this as well.
Im About ready to swap my habu for a mamba.
Had a G5 a long while back...had nothin but problems and after 3 factory replacements I gave up.
Went to a Diamondback 3G for maybe 2 years until I recently picked up a Mamba D:

Can you leave the mamba plugged in and use it as a wired mouse all the time?
Can you leave the mamba plugged in and use it as a wired mouse all the time?
Yes
Instead of plugging the cable into the stand/receiver you plug it directly into the mouse.
It's an insanely cool design that I have found to have no use for :S
