~$30 more gets you a G9, you won't regret it.
The g9x is basically the g500 except with a gimmicky changeable grip and a dpi level indicator that can change color. And if you want to change between fluid scroll and quick scroll you have to pick the mouse up and press a button under the mouse.
Eh, they're not really starting to disappear yet. I think it's Logitech's best-selling gaming mouse. They're not ready to drop it just yet. [editline]01:25AM[/editline] I hope not, anyway. After my G5 inevitably breaks after years of use, I'd like to buy another one. :v:
most of the major sites I check dropped it a while ago, off the top of my head OverclockersUK and Newegg what had confused me for a while was Overclockers still had a giant ad for a G5 at the top of the mouse/keyboard for a good couple of weeks after it vanished :downs: [editline]01:28AM[/editline]
The g9x is basically the g500 except with a gimmicky changeable grip
the shape of a mouse is the main thing that differs between them all the main thing you should decide a purchase on is how comfortable it feels, it's no good getting a mouse with a numpad on the side and 50000 DPI if you can't hold it for more than 10 minutes comfortably
was going by Newegg prices less than half is pretty fuckin' far away from "damn close"
I'm not comparing the Mamba to the G500, I'm comparing the Imperator to the G500, which are pretty much the same price.
now I get the feeling that at some point this thread is going to go G9 Vs Kone again

How utterly useless.
I don't think I could even grip it firmly without pressing at least 3 buttons wonder if anyone's ever mistaken it for a phone
I wish there were more mice for a claw grip, I love the G5, but wish that it was a bit shorter so it would be easier to not rest your hand on it. That would make it a lot like a Razer, but meh, "extreme" gamer bullshit and leds keep me away.
I don't think I could even grip it firmly without pressing at least 3 buttons wonder if anyone's ever mistaken it for a phone
I've never seen a phone with 10,11,12 buttons but I get your point.
Speed dial?
it's for mmo quickbinds, where you can get up to 12 of them
Fixed! :eng101:
Fixed! :eng101:
Fixed! :eng101:
Your avatar is perfectly in time with Grand Funk Railroad's 'Time Machine'. That is all.
I still use my MX500. I love it. It's so used, the Logitech Logo started dissapearing long time ago.
Razer mice are uncomfortable and feel cheap.
That's not true, Dummy >:/ I can recommend the Razer Deathadder.. It's good. :D
I've been told to stay away from Razer mice :/ hmm
I have one, it works very well. The only problem is that occasionally it will revert to defaults and get rid of my binds, but I can just switch profiles and it works again. And cat hair seems to stick to the bottom of it, but that just means I have to clear the hole the laser is in once a day or so with a pen.
Roccat Kone
Personally I prefer the MX1100's more ergonomic shape to the G5 or the MX518 Although probably not built for gaming, it's really, really comfy overall - like the Walther P99 of mice.
Why haven't my Deathadder yet arrived. :ohdear:
That's not true, Dummy >:/ I can recommend the Razer Deathadder.. It's good. :D
What do you mean that's not true? It's my opinion, my Salmosa feels like cheap plastic and is uncomfortable. OP, my G500 is going to arrive today, I'll post what it's like when it comes.
Why haven't my Deathadder yet arrived. :ohdear:
Razer's drivers probably crashed. (real drivers)
My G500 just arrived, it's very similar to the G5. The shape of the mouses are pretty much the same, the G500 is a tad bit lighter than the G5. The G500 has an extra button on the side and a button under the mouse wheel that adds/removes friction to it. tl;dr The g500 is basically a g5 v3
does it still have the matte-ish rough texture? please tell me it does also what's up with the blue lines on that G5, it looks very different to mine
does it still have the matte-ish rough texture? please tell me it does also what's up with the blue lines on that G5, it looks very different to mine
Newer version of the G5 aka G5v2.
that answers neither of my questions
does it still have the matte-ish rough texture? please tell me it does also what's up with the blue lines on that G5, it looks very different to mine
It doesn't. Does your g5 look like this? [editline]11:29PM[/editline] Also, I think that Logitech is discontinuing the g5 and replacing it with the g500.
that answers neither of my questions
You asked about the blue lines, I said it was a newer version. The original G5 was silver, the v2 is blue, hence the "blue lines".
I got a new Razer mamba, but the damn thing won't stay on for more then 8 seconds without me having to turn it off/on. Warning maybe?
