The g9x is basically the g500 except with a gimmicky changeable grip and a dpi level indicator that can change color. And if you want to change between fluid scroll and quick scroll you have to pick the mouse up and press a button under the mouse.

what had confused me for a while was Overclockers still had a giant ad for a G5 at the top of the mouse/keyboard for a good couple of weeks after it vanished :downs:

I wish there were more mice for a claw grip, I love the G5, but wish that it was a bit shorter so it would be easier to not rest your hand on it. That would make it a lot like a Razer, but meh, "extreme" gamer bullshit and leds keep me away.

I have one, it works very well. The only problem is that occasionally it will revert to defaults and get rid of my binds, but I can just switch profiles and it works again. And cat hair seems to stick to the bottom of it, but that just means I have to clear the hole the laser is in once a day or so with a pen.

Personally I prefer the MX1100's more ergonomic shape to the G5 or the MX518
Although probably not built for gaming, it's really, really comfy overall - like the Walther P99 of mice.

What do you mean that's not true? It's my opinion, my Salmosa feels like cheap plastic and is uncomfortable. OP, my G500 is going to arrive today, I'll post what it's like when it comes.
My G500 just arrived, it's very similar to the G5.

The shape of the mouses are pretty much the same, the G500 is a tad bit lighter than the G5. The G500 has an extra button on the side and a button under the mouse wheel that adds/removes friction to it.

You asked about the blue lines, I said it was a newer version. The original G5 was silver, the v2 is blue, hence the "blue lines".
I got a new Razer mamba, but the damn thing won't stay on for more then 8 seconds without me having to turn it off/on. Warning maybe?
