There's not just "polite" and "not polite" These guys are paid and make a living out of public relations. They know how to come off as police, and respectable however, this guy doesn't. time for a new facebook group manager me thinks
They are paid to show that they are better than the opposing team and their products. Besides probably those who buy nVidia products themselves aren't any grannies who get shocked by impolite posts.

If the nvidia CEO went on facebook and saw those comments, that guy would be fired in a heartbeat. FYI, gamers aren't nvidia's only customers.

No. Yeah Dell and all make their decisions based on Facebook comments.

And honestly, they're in no position to trash talk considering their disadvantage right now. In the real world if you act like a child, customers, partners, and other companies will treat you like one and will avoid doing business with you.

They still sell far more gpus than ATI and they have 2 highly anticipated new cards coming out in a month. I say talk all the shit you want, it doesn't affect what I'll be buying.
He was talking about Semi Accurate.
Oh, it's just usually people refer to Something Awful as SA, that's a bit confusing :3
Oh, it's just usually people refer to Something Awful as SA, that's a bit confusing :3
It was a joke.

With the 6000 series right around the corner I'd say nvidia is at a disadvantage.
making us armenians look bad.

The 6000 series isn't around the corner, it's the 5890 or 5990. Tard.

Tard.
True the 5890 is also coming. But GlobalFoundries is already preparing their 28nm fabs for the 6000 series and since it's 28nm, ati doesn't have to deal with TSMC and their poor 40nm yields which both nvidia and ati are feeling right now. What's unclear is whether or not the 6000 cards will be based on new architecture or just higher clocks. Derp.
That's a long, long way off.
Actually it's not.
I doubt they will be ready by then.
Actually it's not.
Do you have any proof of what you're saying at all?
Do you have any proof of what you're saying at all?
If you google GlobalFoundries and 6000 series you can find their statements confirming it, I don't have the specific links I just stay up to date on hardware news that's all.
Point still stands, that's a long way off.
i guess, but the point of that was it was a rumor that' its 28nm.
i guess, but the point of that was it was a rumor that' its 28MM.
28nm :eng101:
i guess, but the point of that was it was a rumor that' its 28MM.
nm not mm. both global and tsmc might just skip over 32nm cause they're already preparing their fabs for 28nm.
fuck its all JE's fault
i guess, but the point of that was it was a rumor that' its 28nm.
It shouldn't be 28nm... that seems like a baby step from 32nm. Last I heard it was going to jump down to 22nm.
It shouldn't be 28nm... that seems like a baby step from 32nm. Last I heard it was going to jump down to 22nm.
Process changes are big deals. I'm no expert, but there are issues like leakage and yields which can cause serious problems and delay the process
I honestly think everyone is taking this far too seriously. Sure, Charles is being a bit sadistic with his pessimistic overview of the Nvidia line up, and he obviously shows bias towards ATI... But seriously people, if you cut the crap, he brings up some basic flaws in Fermi and did a very good job (combined with their forum) helping me understand the situation. Yes, he is spinning hard, just like any other media outlet that wants to see their enemy fail hard... But he is also pretty harsh on the few ATI screw ups he reports. Yet again, not as harsh as on Nvidia's but still not particularly nice. Charles should be considered just like any other pundit, full of shit. Take more than one pre/re/view for best understanding EG: Combining Nvidia's benchmarks with Charles extrapolations make Fermi look like a great choice for it's intended workloads, Tessellation and GPU processing (Which may be what is needed in the coming game gens). Fermi has eccentricities , but it should be expected to, it's an whole different way of making a GFX card. TL:DR Wait for the damn card, Then call BS on Charles, when you can unleash an devastating salvo of benchmarks and personal experiences.
He's made up a lot of bullshit. Like "fermi castrated to 448 SP" and lots of other dumb/fake articles. I'm not going to wait till the card is out, I can already see he is full of shit half the time
