Don't get that Raidmax PSU.
It will blow up and take your family with it.
Switch that 965 out with a 955, it's the exact same thing with a slightly lower clocks.
Get at least a 5850 with this budget.
You don't need thermal compound. Retail CPUs come with it pre-applied on the heat sink. Just set the CPU in the socket then place the fan on it and secure it and you're good.
Don't get DDR2. DDR3 costs the same price and is better. Plus DDR2 doesn't even work with that motherboard because AM3 motherboards are ONLY DDR3 compatible.
OR I could shorten all of that and say.
Don't try making a build on your own. Let someone here do it for you so you can see what they picked out and learn what works best.
Wait a second, I think I have a good build. How's this?

Will this work well? I don't want a price increase for getting a 5850. A 4850 maxes out all of my games just fine.
I've reduced my budget to about $850 or so. How can I chop off a few bucks?

I can't see that list.
Just post the parts separately please. (Labeled too if you can.)

I put down 2 PSUs since I have another computer that I think can be fixed by a new PSU.
I changed the RAM to another brand since I can get it with a deal on the case and it's been getting excellent reviews.
