Had a 8400gt paired with an AMD 64
had them interchanged
no noticeable difference except the 4850 is waaay higher end than the 8400
If anything the opposite is true, only ATI does DX11 which offloads more CPU stuff to the GPU than previous DX versions.

G210 is the only DX 10.1 nvidia card IIRC
