It happens to me on The Walking Dead. So far it hasn't happened with anything else. Jesus. 17% fragmentation. I thought I had this thing scheduled to defragment every week. Apparently not.
Anyone else with a touchscreen have an issue where scrolling is jerky after lifting your finger? When I take my finger off after scrolling left or right it seems to stutter back 20 or so pixels.
Defrag the disk.
Did not help, it is still only showing 58MB available. [editline]24th July 2012[/editline] Woop, got Windows 8 installed and working.

It's probably been asked a couple hundred times, but how much physical space does Windows 8 take? I want to make a new partition to boot from it so I can still keep windows 7 on if it turns out that I don't like it.
There is no if about it, you wont like it.

It states on the actual download page that it's around 16GB, I'd be incredibly surprised if it was 35GB from a 2.4 GB ISO.
Yeah it takes around 20 GB, don't listen to him (although you need more space if you actually want to install anything)
Yeah it takes around 20 GB, don't listen to him (although you need more space if you actually want to install anything)
I didn't mean that the installation itself takes 35GB, but I wouldn't recommend installing it unless you can allocate a bit more space than just for the installation itself. My Windows folder is 13.7 GB and my AppData currently 1.2 GB, but I've pointed all my file libraries back to the Win7 User folder so none of my personal files are on C:.
For the love of God I can not install this stupid OS... I keep getting a files missing error when its Getting files ready for installation.. I've redownloaded the ISO like 4 times and burned it to a disk each time.. Same error >:(.. Please help lol
If I were to install the most recent release of Windows 8 now, would I be able to eventually roll into the official release in october? Or would I lose all my data?
If I were to install the most recent release of Windows 8 now, would I be able to eventually roll into the official release in october? I don't know why; it's stupid that an upgrade from Windows 7 keeps everything, and an upgrade from Vista loses your programs but keeps everything else, and yet Windows 8 RP to RTM is a full wipe. But that's Microsoft for ya.
I only had a problem similar to this on Chrome for Metro and the Weather app
It's doing it to me with everything. I'm starting to think it's a driver issue.
I use Windows 8 CP and it's OK. I like Win 7 better. Here are some issues I have: Windows Explorer crashes (rare but happens about once a month) Slow on start (really fast after 5 minutes) Issues with some DirectX 9 games
Maybe because it's on a VM, but Windows 8 is so slow to start up, and to do almost anything it takes a long time. I thought I gave it enough to work with.
Yeah, trust me, don't try it on a VM. I recommended that for a while before I actually tried it directly installed, and it's a world of difference. With it directly installed, it boots faster than 7 and almost everything is smooth like butter. Partition your drive if you don't wanna nerf your 7. (Also, you actually get to learn the OS if you use it for real; if you just use it in a VM, you'll have a bias because you'll just treat it like a toy instead of a real OS.)
So since I corrupted or broke something in my registry in Windows 7, I am thinking of replacing it with Windows 8 CP But is it stable enough? And for video drivers, what do I install? I have an HD7970 btw [editline]24th July 2012[/editline]
You would lose all your data. i got 8 a couple weeks ago, does it automatically update?

So any idea what the 'Play Here' button on the 'X-Box Companion' App does? Google gives me nothing. I'm guessing its going to be either streaming to the device you're using it on (like the PS3 does with the PSP/Vita), or launching the PC version of the game.
