Woo, running 8 RTM now. God damn, with all this cloud stuff, switching operating systems is much easier. Just install punch in your password, and bam, all your bookmarks and shit are there.

Search for a game called Inkarus under games and give it a try (if you can't find it sort by release date under puzzle games).
Anyone know how to fix the start menu Photo app to run off irfanview instead of the default picture viewer? Getting fucking annoying with the lack of gif support

Logged into Chrome and it pulled down all my extensions and bookmarks. Logged into Dropbox and it downloaded my various documents and projects. Logged into Steam and started downloading games. My music, TV shows and movies are stored on my home server. I just needed to download a few things, most of which were on Ninite already.

Sweet victory :D
This is semi-off topic, but should I be installing programs on to my (80 GB) SSD that also contains my OS, or my 1TB harddrive (not SSD)? I'm afraid to run out of space, but is there a performance boost?
So what are the advantages of Enterprise, and should I bother getting that over Pro?
You will never be able to legitimately activate it, since it's only available to enterprise consumers. Just go for pro if you're not a member of Microsoft Software Assurance.

Most games benefit very little in loading times, but programs like Photoshop, After Effects, and 3DS Max are massively sped up
The Windows 8 default lockscreen looks like it was taken from Katamari Damacy Would be hilarious if someone drew that in
This may or may not be a dumb question, but are there any disadvantages with using Windows 8 RTM over RP? I want to know if windows defender updates and the like will work. Oh, and if I update from RP, will all the old files be stored in the Windows old folder again?
You will never be able to legitimately activate it, since it's only available to enterprise consumers. Just go for pro if you're not a member of Microsoft Software Assurance.
This answered my confusion... By the way it looked, Enterprise is really only for the people that NEED it and it's features. I guess Win7 Ultimate was kinda like that... but for some reason felt like I needed Ultimate, not so much with Enterprise. And you're saying now you can activate pro but not Enterprise?
And you're saying now you can activate pro but not Enterprise?
Both, I have my Enterprise RTM activated.
Both, I have my Enterprise RTM activated.
Oh alright. I'm also wondering... if I was to upgrade to Win8 now, which seems to be what some if not most people are doing, when Win8 is released will it affect me at all? Will I have to download and install that version?
I think you just have to buy the license and it'll install the updates from 'Evaluation copy' to Retail
Woo, running 8 RTM now. God damn, with all this cloud stuff, switching operating systems is much easier. Just install punch in your password, and bam, all your bookmarks and shit are there.
Did you end up installing Pro or Enterprise?
Did you end up installing Pro or Enterprise?
Decided to go with Pro.
Decided to go with Pro.
Alright, I'm gonna go with Pro then. Installing tonight or tomorrow.
I guess Win7 Ultimate was kinda like that... but for some reason felt like I needed Ultimate, not so much with Enterprise.
Let me make this clear: The Pro version of Windows 8 is like the Ultimate version of Windows 7. It contains all the features a consumer would ever need. Windows 8 Enterprise is exactly like the Enterprise edition of prior versions. So there is no reason to compare Win7 Ultimate with Win8 Enterprise.
And you're saying now you can activate pro but not Enterprise?
You can activate both by hacking them. You cannot purchase Enterprise.
I wish I knew how to activate W8 Pro... Google is not helping me -.- lmao
I wish I knew how to activate W8 Pro... Google is not helping me -.- lmao
I've seen methods on torrents. When I install win8 and if I get it activated I'll tell you what I did. Can't really find the methods on FP, unless you PM someone. I like HackForums for stuff like this.

RTM is supposed to show up in MSDN and Dreamspark today, I'll probably install it as soon as it does.
So, is there a release date for Windows 8 yet? Wasn't it somewhere in October?
So, is there a release date for Windows 8 yet? Wasn't it somewhere in October?
29 October I think.

Also, if any of you are getting crashes with our game, please press the "Send Details" button so we can fix it. Thanks! And if you didn't see my last post (and because RTM hits MSDN today), you can find our game Inkarus in the store by looking under Games>New Releases. Or you can search for it in the store. We've worked really hard these past 6 weeks making it and would really appreciate it if you'd give it a try.
