Called with Australian, they wanted 6 digit blocks which I didn't have. Called with US and it went through, but it said the product was invalid.
The key is probably blocked in the US. Try UK maybe (that's where most people have reported it working, although it might not work anywhere anymore)
Failed on UK.
Used a different serial this time, the one I was using before was like the first one posted :P
Worked on UK.
Is Vista SP2 as good as 7 in performance? I'm going to try it out how well it runs.

No.
So you can't edit the hosts file to block ad servers in Win8 without disabling Windows Defender?

What could that possibly be good for?

So if you want to make real use of the hosts file (remove facebook ads and shit), you have to use a different antivirus?
Thats fucking bullshit
Edit:
I hope theres a way to opt-out of this.
I can't seem to get the start up folder working. The program I'm trying to run on start up is showing in the task manager's start up list but yet it doesn't open.
A user at GHacks.net has suggested that Windows 8 users who want to keep Windows Defender yet be able to edit the hosts file can actually exclude the file from “protection”. Go to “Windows Defender > Settings > Excluded Files and Location. Add the hosts file and see if you still have the problem”. If anyone is running Windows 8 RTM but wants to customise the hosts file this may be the best solution.
And I'm pretty sure this is not a big conspiracy to invade your privacy - I've seen ads and sites getting hijacked by viruses, people whining about how their Google searches open wrong sites, about how they can't get to Facebook, etc, so I think this is just Defender doing it's job.

yes. but I hope theres a way to disable that, but still keep windows defender.
Is it a good idea to Jump the shark for waiting and do what you guys are doing?
Getting it early?

gonna wait a few weeks, and test it out somewhere before buying.
Maybe I'm not even going to bother with this version.
I'm holding off until there's a solid way to activate it.

What's wrong with phone activation?
What's wrong with phone activation?
I'll look into that.
EDIT: Can I do phone activation with Pro or does it have to be enterprise?

Erm, that's what I quoted.

You can do it on pro, look up phone activation on google. Search within the last week.
I don't know if you've guys have seen this yet:

It would go great with Win 8
I made a 40 GB partition on my SSD and installed Windows 8 Pro to it, then used the phone activation. Worked just fine.
This is fucking nice, it takes 14 seconds to reach the desktop from hitting the power button.

Solid state drive, specifically I have a 128GB Crucial M4.
Anyone else using a (graphics) tablet with Win8?
My secondary Bamboo works really well with Metro, it's a pleasure to use.

I'll have to try out my intuos and see how it works with it soon. It doesn't have touch or anything, only pen, but I'm interested to see how well they work together.
