so best buy has their designed for win8 computers for demo.
god damn the lenovo yoga is really cool as fuck and its a great deal for only $1000 considering you get an i5 and 128gb ssd all in a nice thin package, the touch screen is top notch and the whole OS is fluid as fuck.
also the win 8 version of IE is good, yes IE is good now. pinch and zoom is very fluid, even on the desktop version.
oh and the wrist wrest material feels really good to the touch, its like a way more durable felt material found on tablet covers
So, does the RP only get limited access to the store, or can I actually get Skype on friday?
If you meant RT:

I don't think the Release preview will have limited access, not sure tho.

And oh god, today's update made the Music app a music crapp.
Holy shit, Windows 8 + Classic Shell is a breeze.
It runs MUCH faster now.
So I'm having problems and I've come to the conclusion that I have Windows 8 installed, and running currently... problem is is that it apparently NEEDS my other HDD because Windows 8 is activate on that. I can't boot into to windows on my now primary without my secondary. I would like to format my secondary, but I can't. Help?
I'm not doing anything that requires a fresh install... I've reinstalled Win8 too many times to do it again... it has gotten boring. So if I could keep my current OS exactly how it is and wipe everything off my secondary that would be perfect.
About the skype. I was contacted by this person right after I logged in. Never had this person in my contacts either.

I didn't know Ben was a female name.
So, what, the bootloader is on drive D: and your windows installation partition is on C: ??
I'm guessing so... perhaps...
Is there a way to move the bootloader to my primary (C:) as well as the windows installation?

Use the repair disk.
Use the repair disk.
Repair disk? You mean from the Windows installation disc?
The last time I had this problem I tried the repair option and it didn't work... I ended up having to reinstall.
I've hear that MS is gonna block all those third party start menu programs, is this true of false?
Skype app works awesomely
Multi-tasking is really smooth and fluid and I love it.
Only qualm with windows 8 is that to go back to Windows 7 I have to restart it.
I've hear that MS is gonna block all those third party start menu programs, is this true of false?
Where did you hear this?
Where did you hear this?
I have no source either but I heard about this too. Oh well, I'll enjoy Start8 while it lasts and people will always find ways to do it.
I've hear that MS is gonna block all those third party start menu programs, is this true of false?
That was an old rumor that went around during the Consumer Preview days, which stated Microsoft "blocked" them from running on the Release Preview. It was all bullshit.
the fact that there are ARM Windows 8 tablets and x86 Windows 8 tablets is gonna confuse the fuck out of people, especially since there won't be compatibility with with x86 on ARM, so lots of support calls on why League of Legends or Sims 3 won't install

I can't see any reason why anyone would want to use desktop apps on a tablet anyway. They're annoying as fuck to use because controls were made for cursors. And I imagine your average consumer would go for the cheapest option anyway.

true but there will be touchscreen laptops now, the blur between all these different devices is stronger th an ever, there may be ARM laptops soon
Does anyone know how to clean up the Music app so it only contains songs I have on my iPod/iTunes?
If I spend the $40 for the upgrade to Windows 8 pro, is there a way I can get my install to format the drive? Or remove all my programs and whatnot?
you can install Windows 8 to a DVD or USB flash drive, and then install the OS like you did with Windows 7 via DVD or flash drive.

and yes the ability to do a clean install is there, so long as you have Windows 7/vista/XP installed on the disk prior to booting into the install dvd or flash drive:

Touchscreen laptops have existed for years now along with convertibles, I doubt they're going to all of a sudden become hot shit because of Windows 8.
Does anyone know how to clean up the Music app so it only contains songs I have on my iPod/iTunes?
If you mean remove all the store/highlights/all the other shit, there's not a way to my knowledge, and you'll have to wait for a decent alternative to arrive.
The automatic repair option on the disk is a complete pile of shit.
you are better off pressing Ctrl+X and using bootrec.
So should I boot up the Win8 disc with both my HDD's in or just the one I want to have as my primary? Talking about when I use bootrec...
Does anyone know how to clean up the Music app so it only contains songs I have on my iPod/iTunes?
There's no way to specifically do that, but you can set the Music app to launch into the My Music section when opened by going to the settings charm , Preferences, and then toggle the Startup view option to On.
What's the happenings with Windows Media Center for Win8? Is it even out?
What's the happenings with Windows Media Center for Win8? Is it even out?
I believe it's already out, however you have to have a product key to unlock it.

What other features can be added? Like Microsoft Office and whatnot...
I wonder what icon Facepunch will use for Windows 8
I made a small Metro guide thingy.
Here are all the Metro things you need to know:
Top left corner - running Metro apps (Desktop is considered an app in there), you can drag an app to use it side by side.
Top right and bottom right corners - Charm bar. Let's you search stuff, share stuff, open the start menu, shows your devices. Settings menu either shows you settings for the app you're currently running, or quick shortcuts to PC info, Control Panel, Help, and Personalization. Also at any time it shows your network status, screen brightness (if it's changeable), volume, and lets you turn your PC off. Finally, it has a shortcut to "PC settings" - basically the Control Panel for Metro stuff.
Bottom left corner - Start Screen. You can pin any apps and folders to it. Drag icons to rearrange. Right click on an icon to: uninstall the app, run it as administrator and to pin/unpin it. Right click anywhere to access all apps.
You can just start typing on the start screen to search like you would do on Windows 7.
Metro apps: Right click to access extra options.
If your screen resolution is larger than 1360x768, you can run 2 apps side by side. Drag an app from the top left corner to pin it. Drag the bar between the apps to resize them.
And that's all there is to Metro.
