You can sideload Metro apps on Windows RT just like on 8.
you can install Windows 8 to a DVD or USB flash drive, and then install the OS like you did with Windows 7 via DVD or flash drive.

and yes the ability to do a clean install is there, so long as you have Windows 7/vista/XP installed on the disk prior to booting into the install dvd or flash drive:

One of the previews, don't remember which one, just puts the old Program Files, Users, Windows, and probably some other folders in a new folder called Windows.old if you choose "Keep Nothing".
Out of the blind 2 Windows 8 laptops arived at the store where I work, a day before the actual release.
Just a sec, take a screenshot of disk managment just so I'm sure thats the problem.
Nevermind. Fixed it.
I unplugged my secondary HDD, booted into the Win8 installation disc and ran all the bootrec commands. Win8 booted right up just fine... I plugged in my secondary back into SATA 2 and formatted it.
So at which time is Windows 8 coming out?
I've tried out Windows 8 a little while ago on my laptop, though after one of it's updates, which was suppose to improve on a lot of things, it suddenly wouldn't start up anymore.
After the Windows logo when the screen in which you're suppose to login to wouldn't appear, screen just went on/off without stopping, showing the cursor sometimes.
It's been awhile since then, has anyone experienced that before?

If you mean remove all the store/highlights/all the other shit, there's not a way to my knowledge, and you'll have to wait for a decent alternative to arrive.

There's no way to specifically do that, but you can set the Music app to launch into the My Music section when opened by going to the settings charm , Preferences, and then toggle the Startup view option to On.
No I mean I have a bunch of music in the My Music section that I deleted from iTunes but not from my computer, but the Music app still has all the songs in its library.
Help?
The Skype app still won't work for me. Sigh.

This is the version that lets you clean install, right?
Just wanted to clarify before I buy the hell out of it.

Midnight tonight, your timezone.
My order has been shipped!
So excited, will be buying the upgrade pack! I guess I gotta install Windows 7 before then?

What are you running now? I think they said that you could upgrade directly from Windows 8 RP as long as you have your Windows 7 key.

Windows RTM Enterprise :v:. So guess I will be installing Windows 7 quick and then do the upgrade.
Microsoft Surface conference has started on the livestream
Oh god there was spaghetti all over my floor just before he dropped the surface
So I installed Windows 8 and using it now...
I was wrong.
Very wrong.
It is much better than I expected. Everything is fast, stable, easy to navigate, automated (hell, it even automatically downloaded NVIDIA drivers for my 9600 GT while installing). Start menu is quite useful for organizing games library and also looks stylish.
Most importantly, I don't have to sit around it and make it work awesome, like with 7 more or less, Vista in much aspects, and XP - oh, I could destroy 2 days of my life configuring XP for good work. On 8, everything is ready to roll in one evening.
Though I have a lil' problem - Metro interface looks like shit for some reason. Unseen text, black bar on Start word and on many other words too. Any solution?
Reeeally want a Surface after watching the live stream! Thought that the full Win8 version was gonna be released when Win8 was. Seems like i was wrong? Any idea when it actually is released?

Early 2013 If I remember correctly.
I thought it was in december
Everywhere I have read it mentions they are bringing the Surface Pro 90 days after the Surface release which is Jan 2013.

Restart didn't help, is there anything that can be done?
