Sweet.
Just bought it and made the switch on my i5 SSD desktop. Holy shit. I don't remember the consumer preview being anywhere NEAR as fast as this. It's incredible. The speed increase alone is enough to move up from 7.
The Music app is fantastic! Have a look at it, Just been having fun reading through artists bio's on it.
Just wish there was a Queue'd menu.
I'm just going to say...

I can imagine it would come in handy if you where writing a document and needed to write out stuff from an email, or a web page. having it running in the side is better than constantly switching windows.

you can already have desktop windows side by side though
I probably should've asked this before buying the $40 W8 deal, but does it come with 64bit or 32bit? The .iso seemed pretty small compared to the 64bit RTM version I had so I'm really hoping it's not the latter.
Touchpad gestures are p neat, but the chrome app is kinda bad ugly, with it's wasted-space black bar on top and all

It's both, afaik. Your key determines if it's 32 or 64 bit. That, or it's only 64 bit. Mine was, anyway (of course).

It finished installing right as I finished posting (4mins to install). It's 64bit for me too. Awesome!
Does anyone know where and what Windows 8 upgrade assistant downloads?
Would love to create an ISO of windows 8 for future use.
It takes less than 10 seconds to boot into Windows 8 on my SSD.
The upgrade assistant can create the ISO for you. As soon as it's done downloading it'll give you the option to do so.
So anyone knows how MS actually checks the date of purchase of your copy of win7 for the 15$ upgrade? I bought my laptop on february and I just went "lol i bought dis in june" and they sent me my promotional code and everything. Now I'm running the upgrade assistant..

OH LOL nvm I did in fact fool them into giving me the discount....

[sp]pls dont raport[/sp]
Trying to put my billing info into the upgrade assistant that I downloaded from the US site, but it won't let me put in a US state, just Canadian provinces and prefectures. Help?
Am I the only one who can't even use the upgrade assistant?

The waiting is killing me

My touchmouse is ready
This upgrade assistant is taking fucking forever. I don't care what's compatible and what isn't, I can install the drivers.
I just wish Microsoft would let me even pay for the damn thing.
"Windows 8 isn't available in your region"
I'm in the United States using the leaked RTM. What do I do?

Same, only in Norway.

Well I'm using a windows 7 license that I actually purchased, so if I can't legitimately upgrade to 8, I have no clue how you could even hope to accomplish that.
I'm going to try reinstalling Windows 7 64-bit then run the upgrade tool. Goddamn it. This is a pain in the ass. While I do that, I'm gonna see is my mom's PC running Windows 8 consumer preview will work.
Wait, so I can't just put in a key into the leaked RTM build? If I have to upgrade how many gb is the download?
