Alright so I was able to use my mom's PC to "check if I was in eligable countries" so I purchased it, applied my promotional code and it started downloading on my PC. However, I wanted it on my PC so I checked my email and it sent me a link to a program fairly similar but instead it asks you to type in your CD key and once you do that, you're golden. Sets you up from there.
Here's the file. YOU STILL NEED A CD KEY

I was trying to play Cut the Rope earlier and it did that but I was on the leaked RTM. I'll try on my legit install.
oh wait, i can't install it again because windows 8 upgrade assistant is telling me to buy it again.
anyone know where the installer is that the assistant downloads.
Okay, strangely enough, the 'back' gesture on my touchpad only works in non-metro chrome.
Got Windows 8 in the mail today, clean installed it, everything is awesome.
Literally no complaints.
How can I most efficient do this:
I have:
- Sata 2 SSD 60GB w/ OS W7 and stuff that must be on the c: drive
- Sata 3 SSD 128GB w/Games
- HDD 1TB w/ everything els
I want:
- Sata 3 SSD 128GB w/ OS W8 and some games
- HDD 1TB with a boost from the Sata 2 SSD 60GB
Is is possible?
And how would I install a fresh copy of windows 8 on the SATA 3 SSD without buying windows 8 (no upgrade edition, I'm buying the one for windows.microsoft.com)?
- Thanks
Okay, the back gesture doesn't work in metro apps, period. Weird.

So I've installed Windows 8 and it's nice but why aren't my apps working when I select them? Such as the store and people.

I think it might have something to do with Upgrading and keeping files and settings, after searching I found a few people have had the same problem.
Did you upgrade and keep all your stuff, or do a clean install?
I also installed Win8 on my laptop as a clean install, and the apps are working fine on there.

+ chrome kept my tabs = like nothing happened
Microsoft why the fuck won't you take my money?
Okay I've fixed the problem, all I had to do was refresh my PC and now I have access to everything. Excellent OS.

Happened to me too. I opened up chrome after the install and it said it did not shut down properly and asked if I wanted to restore. I found it a bit funny. :v:
yes, you can use the key multiple times, just not with two different machines at the same time
Thanks, I'll definitely be buying now. Time to clean up what files I don't need but keep anyways once and for all.

Time to go install it!
With a dual monitor setup,
If I have the Start menu on one monitor, is there a way to lock it there or at least keep it there until I close it myself?
Everytime I click outside of it, say to browse on my other monitor it just closes the Start Menu.
I'm not entirely sure why you would want it on 24/7?
What I would like is the ability to span it over two monitors, I hate scrolling around the thing.
Scratch that, it works fine when an App is open, which is the only reason I wanted it to stay open.
I like the smart dj thingy on the music app. Maybe I'll give spotify a rest.
The PC I'm using was a legit copy of Win7 Ultimate (purchased OEM with the hardware) but has since come up with 'This copy of windows is not genuine'.
What would you wager happening if I upgrade?

It would probably still work. I formatted my SSD during the installation of 8 and it still activated just fine.
I'm really getting annoyed here. I'm trying use my Xbox Live Account to sign in and when it tells me to accept the user agreement, I go onto xbox.com, accept it and then go back to the games page and when I go to sign in again, I'm being told to go accept the user agreement AGAIN.
