Microsoft used a betta fish in the Windows 8 Beta? "LIKE IT HASN'T ALREADY BEEN FUCKING DONE BEFORE!"
And? So what if it has been done before, it's fitting. And the fish looks different from the one used in Windows 7 Beta.
Microsoft used a betta fish in the Windows 8 Beta? "LIKE IT HASN'T ALREADY BEEN FUCKING DONE BEFORE!"
And yet, if they'd have done something else, they'd have people bitching that they wasted developer time on that.
I can't really be bothered with doing a Dual boot, would I get away with just using Win8?
I can't really be bothered with doing a Dual boot, would I get away with just using Win8?
not all devices and drivers work, if you do work or important stuff other than browsing and playing games (not even all games work) you could use win8 with no problems, otherwise, I wouldn't recommend it.
They changed the way the "move the mouse to one side" switching works, sweet. Having to use the scroll wheel to change between small thumbnails didn't work very well.
not all devices and drivers work, if you do work or important stuff other than browsing and playing games (not even all games work) you could use win8 with no problems, otherwise, I wouldn't recommend it.
If the beta gives me any major troubles with playing TF2, Photoshop CS5, or video encoding, I'll just resort back to 7's stable epicness.
Guys, I got an idea, I want to install Win8 on my laptop ( offered by my highschool ), isn't too risky ?
Not sure I like how they've made the Start button on taskbar. You have to drag mouse to very bottom left of screen and then it'll popup for you to click.
The new weather app blows the previous one away.
Got it installed now as my only OS on my desktop. Only way I'll really see if I like it. Already, many things I dislike :v: (at least by default, hopefully I can customise a ton)
Installing it right now, wanted to do it on a VHD but somehow it didn't like it. (Told me it couldn't boot from it and thus not install it there but I found an empty 40GB partition which I used now, I hope I didn't fuck anything up)

A new 3D pinball game!

Only thing different is its appearance.
Okay, installed! Multiscreen support seems to be "weird". I got Metro on the left, but the normal desktop on the right.

I'm really impressed so far. It's got everything from my phone, too. I didn't have to set up Gmail, for example. I'm missing Live Mesh, though. I can see SkyDrive, but not stuff synced with Mesh.
Windows 8 supports widescreen wallpapers (ala one long wallpaper for both displays)
That system requirements checker thing "Your CPU is not sufficient for the consumer preview, you need at least 1GHz" My CPU might be crappy, but it is 2GHz Intel Celeron E1400 @ 2.00GHz Conroe 65nm Technology

About 30 seconds into logging in someone on WLM sent me a message and it went through the messages app. Now I love that. You can even dock the messages off to the side and always have that there. This is just brilliant.
Still 4 hours to go :(
I have half the speed of you.
All my Metro apps just turned German.

I was curious as to how I could use the app switcher with two monitors, Win+Tab now shows that sidebar of running apps. Neat. What's the easiest way to install this if I don't have access to a CD burner?
Music app is Zune and is much better than those early screenshots. It can even play music in the background instead of going into standby like other apps.
