Hm, guess it's slow then.
How long did you wait? I tried getting it about 20 minutes ago.

i did it last night. and just got it now...
Ah ok.
And on another note, none of my apps are updating when going to the updates page. The green dots just go on forever and nothing else happens.

I seen this and was like "I haven't gotten mine yet, WTF!?"... looked at my email... had it. :v:
I also keep getting security codes but then I get redirected to a MSN dial-up plan.
I think I read somewhere that the upgrade assistant will run on Windows 8 RP. Unfortunately you're going to have to do a clean install of that, or of something else (7, Vista, or XP).
Would VMware work? Just get the key and put it into Windows 8?

Just did a refresh and it solved it... woo

Hey, where the hell did Windows Update go?
So I just added Windows Media Player to Win8... and now my Win8 is no longer activated. Okay.
Hey, where the hell did Windows Update go?
Metro PC Settings > Windows Update, or it's still in the Control Panel.
Kinda sucks. I guess I'll make sure to stick to the ones that come bundled with Windows for now. Then again, my fault that I decided to install the beta drivers ahahahaha
Is MS aware of DWM being unstable, as you put it? I really don't want to have to go back to 7, not after I saw how sleek 8 was haha
I don't know, it doesn't have any events in the event log about it, and it doesn't give you that DWM.exe has stopped working message where you can send the info to MS and whatnot. I have my doubts it'll be fixed honestly.
Is there any other way of getting a license without using that damned Upgrade Assistant? (Also I can't afford the DVD)
Can I use a key I get for 32-bit Windows 8 pro to install and activate Windows 8 pro 64-bit?

Well that was simple enough

Considering Vista Ultimate Upgrade and Windows 7 Ultimate Upgrade retailed at $259 it amazes me you can get what is essentially the same SKU upgrade of Windows 8 for just $15.75

Go to the best buy website, pick a pc and get the model and model number and it will take like 20 seconds after you send it in

this. No checks whatsoever. You just need windows 7 and that's it. Weird.

I keep getting that, it's asking for a Windows 7 key also.
I can't get rid of this in my taskbar:

Edit:
Already found it.

I read that MS issued a hotfix for it, so hopefully they're at least aware of it
It seems like a really nasty flaw, it's kinda worrying.
I'm scared to turn off my computer, what if it does it again? :v:

i dont need anything drawn to be honest
Can you get a promo code for me then? I'll draw anything you want in MS paint.
I would but I can only get codes for my region (lat/caribbean) and that won't work for you.

Where'd you read that? I hope it's true.
Create a manual system restore which is what I do. Though a few days ago System Restore fucked up 8 and every time I booted I got a BSOD with BAD_SYSTEM_CONFIG_INFO
oh my god the new snip tool is fucking amazing
it lets you do perfect window snips, yes!
also secure boot:

nvm it always had that snipping option

One would think that Microsoft would make Media Center metro-y... or at least change it IN THE SLIGHTEST WAY.
EDIT: Now that I think about it, this is really dumb. Aren't they trying to sell Media Center separate? They're trying to sell something that has been the exact same since Vista. Shame.
I hope they change it up. I was looking forward to a new, metro media center.
