Wait, how do I change my Metro color again? I accidentally stuck with this ugly green.

Somewhere under metro-style PC settings IIRC
I like the music app and Smart DJ, just pick any artist and it'll stream music similar to that artist.

One would think that Microsoft would make Media Center metro-y... or at least change it IN THE SLIGHTEST WAY.
EDIT: Now that I think about it, this is really dumb. Aren't they trying to sell Media Center separate? They're trying to sell something that has been the exact same since Vista. Shame.
I hope they change it up. I was looking forward to a new, metro media center.
It costs money every time they ship it to a new person. Removing it reduces the costs.
Microsoft OneNote is pretty cool;

Also, where the hell is Skype?
And there's less desktop and theme variety than from previous Windows versions, but then again, I'm still using the beta.

I got it through Ninite, otherwise you can also get a Metro version in the Windows Store (is that what the Metro Store is called?)
I'm not sure why someone would actually opt for WMC in 2012
XBMC is a far better HTPC solution.
I love XBMC and use it a lot, but I find WMC's support for live and timeshifted UK DVB-S2 and DVB-T FTA television just far more stable.
Does anyone know if the Dreamspark copies of Windows 8 are limited to one machine? Just trying to figure out if I can use it on my pc as well or if I need to go with the $15 upgrade.
oh my god the new snip tool is fucking amazing

Consider using PowerShell ISE for running Powershell shit, it has a handy dandy script editor (with a list of all the cmdlets) built in and makes remoting as easy as pressing a button and entering your credentials:

Also welcome to the secure boot club
What are the advantages of enabling secure boot, really?
So what was that application that allowed people to make custom tiles for the start screen? I remember someone talking about it several pages ago..
This is fucking bullshit.
How come you all could purchase it just fine and I can't? Microsoft support just keeps telling me to "try again later" and "our system is overwhelmed" but none of you are stuck in Billing Address Limbo.
What the fuck did I do wrong?
Can we have a facepunch thread for all the custom Metro tiles we make? I think that'd make things a bit easier. Or we could just put them in the OP.
Also, anyone figure out how to get notified when you get a facebook notification?

You can't, simple as that. Wish for a FB application coming any time soon.

I can't even get that far so.
And the Skype app STILL doesn't work for me :v:
Im loving windows 8. The multitasking works great and the snapping is good too. Worth every penny.
I remember reading something about snapping but there doesn't seem to be anything snappy going on for me.
Not happy that the skype app would not let me just use my old skype account without merging :(
Would VMware work? Just get the key and put it into Windows 8?
Yeah, try that. I'm not 100% sure but I think it works. I'll confirm in a few minutes.

I just got my Windows Media Centre key at 4:46 PM EDT (3 hours ago). I applied for it before Win8 was even released for my area

I already applied the key and waiting for the restart

you can snap metro apps by dragging them to either side of your screen
How do you install Windows 8 without having the installer moving all your programs over to Windows.old?
"Keep settings and personal files", right? I did it with "Keep personal files" only last time, and it moved my programs over to Windows.old.

I think the installer will always move the files either to their "correct" locations (if you chose to keep them) or to Windows.old. But you can remove Windows.old using Disk Clean-up via Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Performance Information and Tools if you don't want it taking space.
I chose to keep the programs installed, so they were in their install paths like they were in W7.

OR OR OR
You can just delete it like a normal and logical person.
I know you've all been asked this 100 times, but is Windows 8 worth the $40?
yes
At 40 dollars, you are crazy not to. There are alot of improvements and the 40 dollar price will go away after January
How are the boot times?
