What's the easiest way to install this if I don't have access to a CD burner?
You have a flash drive with over 3GB of space? If so you can use this: http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msstore/html/pbPage.Help_Win7_usbdvd_dwnTool

I would dualboot just in case.

It could be kind of iffy depending on how much the W7 installation takes up and how much your W8 one will.

I got about ~290 gigs free and was thinking of just switching it out with a 750 gig drive.

Not any way that anyone has figured out yet. You got to format and that is what they want you to do.
Going to put this on my other Hard drive, 50gb partition should do it right?
50GB is plenty enough to install, it's not going to give you massive amounts of space for programs though.
I just found my 7 preview on a DVD+RW :v:
Time to erase that and put 8 on it now.
Considering downloading this during a PC lab some time so I can use my Uni internet to the fullest and not the artificial limit we have in halls. Seems like it could be interesting to poke around in with the VHD install method.

I might walk into class tomorrow early and be all like im installing 8 onto my class machine
I don't like the new start screen/metro apps at all. Everything is WAY too big on my 27" monitor. I can see this being great on tablets and maybe some laptops, but I don't like it at all on a desktop. Thankfully my second monitor seems to always show the desktop.

Just to be shown up by a lecturer lording over me with his 100% terminal debian machine.

Can I create the VHD in windows right now or do I have to wait until I get into the install environment to create it?
No start menu? Oh god I'm not okay with that.

Where do they hide the "power off" button? The only place I can find it is if I first log off my account.
Getting quite a few "This feature is not available in your region" messages. Sad times.
Curse you, UK.

It's under the settings charm I think.
After trying this I really have mixed opinions about it, it has good sides as well as bad ones, I will need some time to get used to Windows 8 I guess.

Win+I or hit the bottom or top right of the screen and click settings.
it looks like my computer wont boot from the DVD for whatever reason so I have to format my usb stick AGAIN to install the bitch.
So I have Windows 7 installed on my C drive and XP on D drive. I'm going to format the D drive and install Win8 on it. Is it possible to do such thing? Furthermore, is it possible to install it from a pendrive?
