are there any apps for android phones/tablets that let me use them as a touchpad with gestures and things?
Damn it, where can I get 800$ to buy a Surface and ship it to Russia? :(
God damn it windows 8 upgrade, you've completely destroyed this install. Time to do a fresh install now.
For those interested in changing their VS a bit, here's some that look rather good:

These are especially handy if you want to have a darker style, while being able to read the text clearly above.
Don't forget to install UltraUXthemepatcher if you wish to use these:

You might have to reinstall the theme patcher once in awhile because of Windows updates.
They look like they've been made by the average XDA 'themer'
What? Do you mean the windows button? If so make sure your "game switch" if set to off (slid to the left and not glowing).
As in shortcuts like Winkey + C, etc
I'm soo looking forward to getting my Surface shipped from Germany to Denmark. I'm just annoyed that i preordered it too late to get it for release...

Fixed

They work don't they?
And the second one looks better if you change the background, it's what makes it look rather cheap.

Yea I know, but weren't sure since you can get W8 for 15$! So didn't think that far.
Just buy it! You will feel great for owning a license for the first time ;)!
Isn't it possible to have a Metro sidebar on your screen? I swear I saw something about that a while back
Should I delete Windows.old folder?
Should I delete Windows.old folder?
If you've got all your shit out of your old install that you need, sure, it won't do any harm.

Drag the top of the metro app down slightly as though you're going to close it, then drag it to the side of the screen (kinda like aero snap)

Or you could buy it right now for pennies.
Should I delete Windows.old folder?
Get all the stuff you need from it and run a disk cleanup
Get all the stuff you need from it and run a disk cleanup
I can't just delete the folder?
Has anyone of you noticed how Windows 8 adjusts the screen brightness according to how bright the image on the screen is? It's like a semi-dynamic contrast thing. Except it's pretty slow.
I can't just delete the folder?
Any time I've tried manually deleted the folder in explorer it's always given me permission errors on some files. Running Disk Cleanup as admin and selecting Previous Installation(s) of Windows only takes a few seconds anyway.
I can't just delete the folder?
Usually when I do that I end up with some files/folders I can't delete due to permissions, so it's easiest to just do it in disk cleanup

is there a way to change the metro background to a picture?

If you mean from the explorer, the second theme I mentioned changes it to more like the one from Windows 7.
I am going to unpin everything from my Taskbar now, try and force myself to use the Start Screen more.
Here goes nothing?
