Ugh, OblyTile won't create any tiles! Why?
It appears I'm not the only one running into OblyTile errors...
Yay!... kinda.
Oh, I know why it's not working. OblyTile is putting the shortcuts in C:\Users\Shaun\AppData\Roaming, even though I changed the roaming folder location to be on D:\
EDIT: Ugh, and I can't even post the bug on XDA because I don't have 10 posts yet

We share all the same feels.
I just emailed Argony-OT.
He must be doing something like "%UserProfile%\AppData\Roaming", because just using "%AppData%" gets the right Roaming folder.
OblyTile doesn't even work for me. I choose the icons and such and press create. It says it created it successfully, but there's no tile.

Do you have your AppData or User folder in a non-default location?
Works fine for me.
Works fine for me.
Can you tell me what steps you're doing? I chose the same icon for the small and large because I didn't have any other icons. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

Go to %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs and see whether you have any shortcuts with "OblyTile" in the name. If not, try doing a system-wide search for files with OblyTile in the name.
is there any better way to get this thing to pop up?

So how does this treat laptop batteries compared to windows 7
I was thinking of upgrading my laptop to 8 if it is overall more efficient in the things that it does but the UI kind of turned me off but I can live with it if is faster / longer lasting

I did the same thing you're doing.
Definitely need people to start churning out good-looking metro tiles.

oh god I had tons of freezing/crashing issues with office 13 when I first installed it, but eventually they worked themselves out.
caved in and bought it
it was only $15 anyways
May I just say I absolutely hate the fact that 2013 won't have a dark gray theme. The white theme in the preview is god-awful.
office 13 rtm has dark and light gray
apparently
came out the 24
Does anyone know what kind of performance impact windows 8 can make in game. Since upgrading I have around 10-15 less fps in bf3 than I did with windows 7.

I've noticed a performance drop as well...
well bf3 is a shit game so
in other news, chances are your drivers are not supported on windows 8 etc.
i've, personally, had better fps and performance in games.

You using nVidia? If so, which drivers?
Im using the latest drivers from amd and it shows support for windows 8.

Ahhh. Both the latest BETA and official release drivers for nVidia have Win8 support, but I'm going to revert back to the official release to see if my performance increases...
i'm not digging the "tap to determine what to do with this device"

I noticed that too. It does not really bother me, but it would not hurt to make it say tap if you have a touchscreen or a touch pad, or click if you just have a mouse.

I just snap my music app to the left of my screen.
Also, I have an ASUS laptop with Windows 8 on it, but none of my function keys work (Wifi, keyboard backlight, volume) or the power keys (screen contrast, power mode). Any way to fix this?

Download the ASUS drivers for the special function keys.
Failing that, wait for ASUS to release windows 8 drivers. :v:
You can edit the registry in RT.
Does anyone know if it's possible to grab the icon/image they use in the app tiles? Or if anyone has a link to a metro icon for TeamViewer - Would like to replace the desktop version icon.
