How did Saitek fuck up so badly that a keyboard doesn't work out of the box?
Anyway, use 7zip (Winrar would probably work too) to extract the contents of the exe. I just took a look at it and there should be a folder in there labeled 8018 containing the actual driver files. Open device manager, click the computer name at the top of the list, to go the "Action" menu and then click Add Legacy Hardware. When it asks what you want to do, select "Install the hardware that I manually select from a list (Advanced), press next a couple of times and press the "Have Disk..." button. Click browse and navigate to the 8018 folder you extracted. I don't know which file to use, since I don't own that keyboard.
Can someone please tell me how to make a "Computer" and "Control Panel" tile with OblyTile?

This is what comes up when I do that.

These are definitely the right drivers so I'm not sure what is going on.

Fixed the argument.
Didn't know you could do it that way. That's much better.
I GOT MY SURFACE! Yaaay.. can't express my happiness. Also the device is very good exceåt for some problems software wise, would definetly recommend this awesome device to anyone.
Posting from my vivo. Internet explorer aint so bad.
The sad thing is, lately I've been getting a better experience from IE than even the comparatively crashy, clunky Chrome. I used them alongside each other during the RP but now that I've got the final version on my desktop, IE is so much faster and more lightweight that I haven't even bothered installing Chrome.
What the fuck happened to the world????
The only trouble is that I can't have metro on both screens. It'd be nice to have metro IE on one screen whilst using the other for other stuff.

I agree wholeheartedly. I love it 99% of the time.
It's just that it has this very rare lag that really gets on my nerves but it's better than any Android tabet I've used in that respect. I've no doubt they'll fix that in a later software update.
Does anyone still have that tile pack from deviantart, with like 100 icons?
Or does anyone just have any good ones?

Hi from Windows 8, btw

Heh, they didn't call it 'Winkel' for the NL localisation.. I could understand if it was titled 'Windows Store', but since it's just 'Store'.. Ah well.

Yeah, some thing are translated, some are not.
there's no more native iso mounting that was in the release preview?
real dissapointing

i got it to work through powershell but i dont see it in explorer
For those still on the fence about upgrading, I thought I'd just offer a few of my thoughts:
I have to say I was pretty iffy about windows 8 when I first saw it and used the original builds. I was firmly in the "Oh god, it's a tablet OS on a PC" camp. I found it hard to believe that the people saying "It's actually more productive once you get used to it" were being truthful. I only bought it because I wanted to take advantage of the £25 offer with the free media centre while it lasted. And as a guinea pig to test it before we contemplate rolling it out across a dozen computers at work.
After a few days of usage I have found that it is indeed better, once you get past the fact the new "start" screen is different to what you are used to the whole OS is hardly any different to windows 7... it's just faster, it's not like windows 7 was slow to begin with but they have actually managed to improve on that.
I have found myself using keyboard shortcuts for most things, more than I used to, but that's no bad thing. As a linux user I am fully aware of the benefits of doing things with command line tools and keyboard shortcuts, the mouse is a "slow" device. Pushing the Winkey and typing "infra" <Enter> to open Infrarecorder is fast even if you have it pinned. Winkey+X Then P to open control panel... Etc.
Multimonitor capability has certainly improved. The new task manager gives more useful information at a glance without having to open up the full blown computer management screen.
For gaming, I haven't ran benchmarks but there's no significant difference for better or worse as far as I can tell.
I'll be re-installing my DVB-T and DVB-S2 Tuner cards in the coming days to see if they work as well as they did in Windows 7's Media centre.
The upgrade option during installation worked very well for me, the only issue I have come across was I had to reinstall punkbuster as the services didn't carry over. This led to me being kicked from multiplayer games until I fixed it.
I do have a couple of questions, however.
1) Someone posted a screenshot of their tile categorised with text above them. Maybe I am being a bit thick, How do you do this?
Edit Worked this one out, Press the minus button in the bottom right, right click the group and click "Name group"
2) How can I change the title bar colour? Mine is black and my windows are dark blue so it is difficult to read and looks awful.
Is anyone else having issues with Windows Defender pretty much eating the hard drive usage up?
Mine is fine, only using RAM.
Don't suppose someone knows how you can turn off automatic scanning though?

Just right click the .iso and choose mount? The option is there for me.
Found the link i was talking about earlier: http://dakirby309.deviantart.com/art/Metro-UI-Dock-Icon-Set-678-Icons-280724102?
Do any of you have trouble with the Mail App, with it saying ' is unavailable'?

I'm looking for the answer to this question as well. Or if it can't be achieved how to change windows color separately from taskbar color.
I'm really enjoying Windows 8 now that I've gone through and cleaned up the start screen and got rid of all the junk tiles.
My main issue about Windows 8 is that there are no visual indicators of a lot of things. It should come with a tutorial video or SOMETHING to show people about all the shortcuts and how to bring up the charms menu (top right corner and then down), and how to close metro apps (click the top of the screen and drag down or to the side).
So much of it has no visual indication that I've found most of it by moving my mouse blindly around the screen to figure out how to do things.
And I really would expect pressing ESC would exit out of a Metro app or at least go back to the start screen, but it does nothing.
But anyways, now that I know a few of the shortcuts and how to close things and bring up the menus, I really love it.

The default program for opening ISO's has to be Explorer.exe or the option won't show up.
Does anybody else have a Microsoft account from years ago when you were a promiscous little boy who'd add all them schoolyard chums with their shitty "xx-dragondagonslayer-xx@hotmail.com" emails? I accidently linked that Hotmail account to my Skype and now my Skype list is so full of shit.

Happens with my school email. It still syncs most of the time though.

Chrome has been less than desirable for me too, but I'm too lazy to remember my passwords for all my accounts.
Watched me some Netflix on this here tablet. Not jittery like my Xoom and it would never run on my touchpad. Some games run less than desirable for this tablet, most notably Pinball FX2, but this is currently everything I wanted in a tablet and then some.

It does come up with a small "tutorial" (if you can call it that) during user account initialisation, which amounts to nothing more than a short animation with a pointer moving and text saying "move your mouse to the corners and figure it out from there".
I agree that it should be made more visible and informative, because right now, to a user unfamiliar with Windows 8 and not willing to experiment, it isn't exactly obvious.

Its the exact same thing with the RT version. They don't even mention gestures. I'm glad I knew them going into the platform.

So deep.
Also, my Vivo Tab is getting progressively more... noisy. In the way that Asus tablets use terrible adhesives. Pressing on certain parts of the screen results in a lovely click/pop noise.
[editline]3rd November 2012[/editline]
I should mention nothing is actually coming apart on it, it's just noisy. Kinda contemplating returning it in lieu of a Surface.

Ah, I'd play with Surface before you do, just to make sure you're going to like it as much and all. Asus's repair (in my previous experiences) has been pretty good as getting shit right, so they might be able to take care of it without creating another problem.
