if you want to use the internet DON'T get an android tablet
Is it not possible to have groups wider than two blocks on Metro?
edit:
apparently the width expands when the group has more than 14 apps
Is it not possible to have groups wider than two blocks on Metro?
Yes it is, keep adding more tiles to the group and it'll overflow and get wider

Ignore Ezhik, He is incredibly sore about his experiences with android
Browsing on android is perfectly fine for me, and many others.

I only have six tiles though and I just want the group to be wider.

That's a not a reason to ignore someone or even something. If something went wrong for him and caused him a bad experience, then it could easily happen to someone else. No matter what the product is.

Browsing on a Surface or iPad is a much more pleasant experience than Android.
Andoid/iOS for phones.
Windows/Linux for desktops/servers.
Windows RT for tablets.
That's how I feel about OS/medium.
Andoid and iOS are created for mobile and are put on tablets with just a few minor modifications. A tablet isn't a phone and shouldn't be treated like one.

And are way more expensive.
And are way more expensive.
Yeah and Android is notorious for "you get what you pay for"
The best, no-bullshit "cheap" option right now is the iPad mini. Perfect size, good price, it's the exact same internally as the iPad 2 so there's already a kajillion apps for it.
I would recommend the Nexus 7 if you're only on a very, very tight budget. It has a fair slew of problems, both hardware and software.
If someone is going to just be browsing the web and watching videos, and already has a perfectly working computer they do not need a £400 11 inch tablet.

if they have the money to spend that's a decision they can make themselves

ezhik is a good poster and the whole android killing tabs thing is kind of annoying (they should prioritize the browser session when they're killing processes since people can switch back into it at any time and might need data quickly, however the constant whining about it is starting to grate now, complain on the android bug tracker or something

Very few software problems tbh; hardware suffered from quite a few defects early on but I think it's gone down significantly now. You'll have to pay significantly more to get a device that good usually.

Pretty much this; the windows tablet interface formerly known as metro (catchy name huh), while making not a lot of sense on the desktop is one of the most powerful tablet experiences you can have. Android/iOS are still a bit weird with larger screens.
Registration and login is working. Image sizes have been updated to allow more of them.
You can register and upload/download tiles now.
A few things that need implementing/fixing right now.
-search
-rating
-reporting
-replace (semi) dummy text with proper text.
A few things that will be implemented later on.
-collections of tiles
-editing/deleting uploaded tiles
-more advanced user profile
I'd appreciate it if you guys would upload your creations. And if activation mail gets in your spam it would be nice of you to unmark it.

Yea I know. It would be nice of you if you could unmark it. If enough people unmark it it gets whitelisted.
Marked it as not-spam.
Also, I think you missed a t :)

Thanks, fixed it.
Whenever I try to upload something to your site, it just says "File not right size. 'server/php/files/FileZilla@medium.png'."
I downgraded back to 7. Will I be able to go back to 8 for free if I still have my key?

You Windows 8 key? Yes you will.

Sweet, thanks. Couldn't find an answer anywhere.
so how come Windows says my recovery partition which it acknowledges is on an SSD "needs optimizing"?

Cause you never never never have to defrag an SSD.
edit: I think I misread your post. Maybe.
yeah isn't "optimizing" Windows' term for defragging?
I'm starting to regret going to windows 8.
Why?
1. It crashes and freezes all the time.
2. Some of my VST's have licensing issues and thats keeping me from doing my work.
3. Ableton Live likes to lag and crash all the time (which also keeps me from my work).
yeah isn't "optimizing" Windows' term for defragging?
It's trimming.
Yeah, you shouldn't be an early adopter on a production system.
