Those things you're having problems with are fine in my Windows 8 upgrade. Methinks PEBKAC
Shit! I just discovered that a wireless ad-hoc connection has to be created manually and started up from the command line each time win8 sleeps or is rebooted.

How do you get Windows 8 Pro for a Surface? Planning to buy one soon and i heard it could run all Windows 7 (Or well the most of it) programs. Is it like a software upgrade you gotta buy?
The pro version of the surface isn't available yet. You can't put windows 8 pro on the current surface. ARM CPU's don't support it.
Ah alright, i guess its better to wait for the Pro version? Any release date announced yet? Google.com is flagged as Malware on my school for some reason now so i can't look it up
Unknown release date. But to be honest I don't see any reason to get a surface pro. ivy bridge i5 4gb ram Probably around 5 hours battery life (if not less) 10.6" screen with 1920 x 1080 resolution. And will most likely cost around $1000. You can get a beast of a laptop for that price.

[editline]29th November 2012[/editline] Price would be around 700 Euro
Mainly for the fact that it can run all Windows 7 programs and besides a tablet a lot smaller then a heavy laptop.
Its almost 1kg. And do you really want to use desktop applications with a touchscreen?
Its almost 1kg. And do you really want to use desktop applications with a touchscreen?
Hm might as well go for the Nexus 10 then
You definitely don't want to waste money on the Nexus 10. Kaabii will be happy to explain why. I'll state a reason that needs to be stated - it's a fucking Samsung tablet. The plastic they use has the strength of wet tissue paper.

The only tablet i haven't heard much negativity about is the iPad which i use from time to time but they belong to my parents. Any other suggestions? Doesn't has to be a Android tablet but i don't want a laptop since i want to use it fast and without the keyboard so i can hold it fine in my hands.
Well what do you want in a tablet? If you just want something to sit down and browse the web with, the iPad is for you. If you want to do more than sit and browse the web, like maybe do some homework on it, tablets aren't for you. I'd advise against Android solely because even though I firmly believe Android is a stronger tablet OS, none of the developers really care about making a worthwhile tablet UI for their apps. RT can be considered a miss if you care about apps at all, wait until it matures a bit (though heavy hitters like Hulu and Netflix already have apps and they work wonderfully.) The Nexus 10 isn't a great choice because the Mali T604 is a horrid GPU compared to the SGSwhatever of the new 4th gen iPad, especially at the resolution it's trying to drive, and we all should know that Android in comparison to iOS is a little less snappy, and the inappropriate hardware manufacturers keep putting in Android devices really fucks the ecosystem up. If you really don't want an iPad though you're looking for a tablet at the wrong time.
iPad or Surface.

Besides that i want a powerful tablet so i can mess with it and that i know that it will last longer then a less powerful tablet, mainly because apps are getting more resource consuming. Reason why i would want a Windows tablet is that it would firstly function like a tablet, press a button and instantly is your screen and that these things are kinda bulky and big.
Well I'm a strong advocate against the likes of the Surface Pro. It shouldn't be considered a tablet. It's an ultrabook, and not a very thin or graceful one at that. (It has a fan for Christ's sake) Believe me when I say gaming on a 10 inch tablet is a goddamn nightmare too. I own 3 different 10 inch tablets. Gaming is terrible on every single one. Sounds like you want something more like the Nexus 7 or iPad mini though.

damn, the line between tablet and laptop is really getting blurred I don't know what I want anymore
Switzerland. The place where every thing costs 30-40% more than in most other countries.
I can see the extra tax is only 8% in Switzerland compared to the Danish 25%
I can see the extra tax is only 8% in Switzerland compared to the Danish 25%
Nexus 7 costs 199$ in US, and in Switzerland its about 270$ :v: Also, we are not in the EU, wich does AFAIK increase the price a bit more.
What kind of games? I assume "touchscreen" games. I have worked with iPad, android and just recently a few hours with a surfaceRT (I have used windows 8 as soon as it was available on dreamspark tho) If you want absolutely every app there is get an android tablet or an ipad. An iPad if you don't mind 0 customization and an android if you want all the customization you can get. If you want a future proof OS and an UI specifically made for tablets and not phones get a surface RT. I would personally get a surface RT because it comes with a free full student version of office student and skype is amazing on it. Not to mention how great the touch cover is. Downside is that the windows 8 store is still new and there is a lack of apps. But windows got the biggest developer base so I don't think it will take long before it gets a good amount of content. Not to mention its so much easier (for most developers) to develop for windows 8 then for android and ios.
Oh my god the Office that comes on RT is so nice to have. Since my VLK on my Word has expired on my desktop, I've been doing a fair bit of actual homework on my tablet, and I feel right at home
damn it, I still need like 700$ to buy and ship a Surface :suicide:
