So, I opened Explorer today and noticed 1GB free on my SSD. What the fuck? Apparently my Windows folder is 37.3GB. What the fuck is wrong?

Think there's any possibility of Wacom doing a partnership with a tablet producer?
For reference, it should be around 3GB on Windows 8 x64 Professional
Mine's like almost 22 GB.
Mine's like almost 22 GB.
cool bro, delete all those {DRIVERS} files. they're useless [editline]6th February 2013[/editline] fucking hell microsoft
no i have no problem with that file size, it's the one previous to it. i was showing him that you can just delete all that shit
Oh, my mistake.
Think there's any possibility of Wacom doing a partnership with a tablet producer?
They kind of already do. Pretty much any tablet with a digitizer is using either Wacom or n-trig hardware. N-trig blows, so most OEMs that implement it use Wacom.
I just noticed to what extent Windows 8 syncs settings - I chose "view file extensions" on my desktop from the ribbon in explorer, and now that's the setting on my laptop as well. Seem like the syncs are more than aesthetic.

Any of you had that constantly growing System32 problem?
Any of you had that constantly growing System32 problem?
read above, yeah. Just delete the shitty {DRIVERS} files and the other files that go with them in system32/config
I think Surface suffers from its initial hype. I wouldn't give 7.5 to a device that sucks - In fact that's a pretty good score. It's just that the surface ended up being much less than what it was expected to be. The surface is a decent product, it's just not the second coming of Jesus christ. [editline]7th February 2013[/editline] The Start Screen: Best Porn concealer since 2012
if the 7.5 is the verge score then you should know that Verge rarely ever gives anything below a 6. "literally everything about how you interact with this device is fundamentally flawed. 8/10" -The Verge, on most days
For reference, it should be around 3GB on Windows 8 x64 Professional
No way in hell you're going to get Win8 to 3GB, that would be a miracle [editline]7th February 2013[/editline] Smallest I have ever seen is 15GB.
No way in hell you're going to get Win8 to 3GB, that would be a miracle [editline]7th February 2013[/editline] smallest I have ever seen in 15GB.
I don't think even XP will only fit in 3 GB after all the service packs, updates etc. I think he's getting confused with the size of the install disc.
I think he means C:\Windows\System32. It's 3.32 GB on mine, and 22.3 GB in TehWhale's screenshot.
Those both seem huge in comparison to System 32 on my Win.7 install, 2GB
Guess I'm not getting hit by that {Drivers} thing. Neat.
How big is your windows folder meant to be? Mine's like 18GB and my system32 folder's only about 4.
C:\Windows: 21.2 GB C:\Windows\system32: 3.76 GB [editline]8th February 2013[/editline] There's a 1.3GB folder with a bunch of installers for stuff I already installed before why
Also surface pro's a good idea but I think it'll only come into its own when they release a version with a lower power CPU and hence better thermals and battery life. Also when they release a cover that's more like the keyboard docks other tablets have, with an actual hinge and a secondary battery inside it.
Surface Pro is weird you can tell because nobody knows what it's supposed to be [editline]8th February 2013[/editline] like, the normal surface is supposed to be a tablet, and it's okay [editline]8th February 2013[/editline] but this thing is it like an ultrabook or what [editline]8th February 2013[/editline] x86 tablets are just gonna be meh until they fix battery life [editline]8th February 2013[/editline] i guess x86 is better because you get to use normal apps? but you can't use them with fingers so what's the point of having it as a tablet

If they added a keyboard dock thing then it would be usable in all the situations laptops are, with the added advantage of being detachable and usable as an ultraportable tablet, and with the new intel CPUs/GPUs then it could actually be decent for gaming with pretty good battery life. The technology just needs a little more tweaking before it's actually useful.
Oh god I just installed Windows 8. Everything is so different. I feel like I'm in a new foreign town.
Oh god I just installed Windows 8. Everything is so different. I feel like I'm in a new foreign town.
the only thing different is the start screen?
And the whole design scheme It is pretty different at first glance actually
