Is there a link to get a Windows 8 Pro ISO out there?
Yes, I own Windows 8, but the upgrade assistant keeps saying that "We can't connect to the internet" and I don't know why. That being said I can't make a bootable disk with the assistant. I'd rather have a bootable flash drive like I had with Windows 8.
I think the best solution would just be torrenting the .iso, really, and the use the activation key you got with the upgrade assistant. Or calling Microsoft about the problem, I don't know.
I could upload mine if you need it.

Microsoft is getting out of big numerical releases and service packs. Instead, they're going for a retarded new system of a "release every year" type deal.

out of all the stupid things microsoft is doing, a more iterative release cycle is hardly one of them

How big will the changes be between releases? Like Win7-Win8 big... or like... smaller tweaks and changes?

You can usually just google for "Windows 8 Pro Download" and you get direct downloads from the Microsoft website from some 3rd party site. EG, this.

Can anyone suggest any good win8 tablets? I want one that actually has real pen support for photoshop and other x86 apps unlike the surface pro, right now im looking at the samsung ativ pro, doesnt look too bad but reviews arent too great.

RT or x86-64?
RT or x86-64?
I guess x86, I need it to be able to run Photoshop and havea pen that works with x86 apps.

So I shouldn't hand out my isos to friends without x64 installers downloaded?

Surface Pro, I guess. If you don't care about the less-than-ideal craddle solution, the W700 is actually a pretty nice piece of hardware: http://www.engadget.com/2012/12/14/acer-iconia-w700-review/
I don't know much about pens, so I can't really say whether it'll fit with your needs, but it has 7 hours of battery life, which is pretty much the best we've seen from a x86-64 tablet.

Microsoft won't care and they won't notice anyway. As long as they bought their own activation keys, I don't think you'll get in any kind of trouble for it.

Pen support is a priority for me. W700 doesn't have any pen support. And the surface pros pen doesn't work in x86 apps(important design programs that actually matter like photoshop and painter) cause Microsoft is forcing their own custom API that no one is caring to support.

I think it'll be supported soon enough, but I do know it's an issue. I think the Lenovo Tablet 2 has a stylus as well, but if I remember correctly, it wasn't as good as the on one the Surface - but I do think it has more support. It's Atom, though, and the resolution is only 1366x768.

Yeah, if those are my only options i think, I might go for the Ativ Pro, an atom processor sounds like it'd be a nightmare with photoshop.

Honestly, I'd probably wait around for Haswell before digging into the tablet market, we'll probably see some x86-64 offerings that would provide both good performance and battery life.

Yeah I think i should wait too. I read bad things about the pen on that ativ pro. The thing tho with waiting, is that there isnt a huge market for artists who want a good quality pen based tablet. So these things come out too rarely to be able to wait. I dunno, i think i'm just gonna wait and see if the surface pro ever does come out with an update for their drivers or just ignore the problem and keep blaming adobe and leave things the way they are.

I think Adobe and other companies will update it whenever they feel like it, but I'd probably wait for the Haswell version of the Surface Pro (if we see that kind of stuff) even if the pen gets support.

I just got done making this Longhorn Plex / Metro style start button for classic shell/start8, if any of you want it.
Windows 8 with splashtop on my nexus 7 is interesting. The gestures work well, though the keyboard is tiny.
It's a shame multi-touch doesn't work so well, I looked forward to playing Civ V with it.
