What do you mean?

I think he means any leaked builds beyond Consumer Preview. Just a hunch.
Virtual PC doesn't support x64.
You could install 8 x86 in Virtual PC. Or just use VirtualBox.
I've never had any problems with ATI's drivers. In 7 nor in 8.
The drivers on my 5870 constantly crash if i set it to anywhere near the clock speed that it's rated to run at.

That's probably not a problem with drivers.

So your graphics card is broken. RMA it.
And it finally uninstalled again, and I remembered to get a screenshot to show it.

Still have no clue what causes it to happen, and I'm kind of depressed nobody commented on whether my issues were only with me or not.
Are those 7's drivers or 8's?

It happened to me too. I downloaded a 32bit version of Windows 8 and I didn't realize that my integrated card in my laptop required 64bit to work correctly. So I just did a new installation it works fine now. Make sure you have the correct version your card needs. If you already have it, I don't know man.

Oh, I just read what you posted. The LoadLibrary thing sounds like was what I was talking about and if you are on 64bit win 8 you have to make a copy of atio6axx.dll (in System32) and rename it via command prompt to .dll. Quite the annoying problem with ATI drivers from what I read. If that doesn't work, put the actually .dll into whatever folder you are trying to run (which in this case I assume java?).
Edit: I also get the ghost icons, wouldn't be surprised if it was driver related.
The new Preview looks way better than the older one (Developer Preview).
Looks like my DevPrev shitpost is worthless in this case. :]
New metro Ribbon

Me gusta.
Why isn't the empty part of that ribbon bar transparent?
Would look better, more fitting with Aero.

Such a minor change makes quite a difference.
I think it'd look better if they used DWM's Colorization Color to control the color of the ribbon since the Ribbon already has an interface to change the colors.

I like these navigation buttons:

Will we get that new RibbonUI in the RC?
Will we get that new RibbonUI in the RC?
Well it's already in there and the RC is a few months away so yes.
I've given up on the Win8 nvidia drivers.
They're SO FUCKING BUGGY i couldn't play BF3 for longer than 10 minutes at a time before the drivers crashed.
Back to Win7 drivers; back to stability.
Maybe Windows 9 will just be one solid colour.

Nope, 64bit windows 8 and the card is a 6970 so I'd be surprised if it wasn't supported.

The LoadLibrary thing only happens when the drivers aren't installed. Reinstalling fixes it.

Oh, and soluto has caught explorer crashes (That seem to be new). Anyone know if there's a way to get Microsoft to view them, or if they already look at soluto's crashes?
Is there a way to 'fool' AMD drivers to think that it's installing on Windows 7? Doesn't want to install on 8 (though that might be for the best).

Tried it before, didn't want to run. No matter, got a Windows 7 license now.
Here's the new metro ribbon in English. Really like this.

The red colour always looks out of place.
