In the beta? isn't working for me in DP.

On the DP.
Gah... I hate my fucked-up installation. >_<
Windows 8 looks pretty.
Also, hoping they update the theming feature. Like a marketplace made for themes, and you can try it out straight away.
I hope they get rid of Aero for a Metro like desktop scheme, those mock ups look so good.

R.I.P. Windows logo. We will miss you! :(
Should've just used the windows logo which I see when I boot up my Lumia 800. It's in keeping with metro and immediately recognisable.
This one

I welcome the new logo. It fits the new Metro design well.

The current metro winflag looks and fits better than that.

Can we see it?

I wonder if Microsoft really listen to their customers. They seem to do what they want and then try to convince you it's right. The new logo being an example, metro start screen another one.

Its a bit too saturated, darken it down and its perfect.

If windows 8 was just windows 7 with a more shiny aero, fast as shit boot times, windows store and the other minor enhancements, it would be the perfect upgrade. All of these UI tweaks are mounting up and they are putting me off.

They've never done a Metro screen for tablets and desktops, only mobiles. How the fuck are they going to know if it works for the general public without just throwing it out there and seeing what happens? Testing may get some results, but it won't be truly representative of the public opinion. Besides, forcing changes keeps the OS fresh, we'd still be stuck on grey bars and bland designs if MS didn't try to force the newer designs through.
I feel like the designer that made the new logo didn't spend any time on it whatsoever.
Odd, they aren't greyed out for me.
Going to try and use this as a main OS for awhile.

In my opinion it isn't half bad, but it really should carry on the color of the current one.

It would look better.

It at least still feels like Windows then
So I've installed W8. I really like the feel.
Now just to fix this Res problem. (I can only get 1600x1024) I need to get my normal rez (1980x1080)
Is the Nvdia driver for GTX 560 ti compatible?

7 drivers work on 8 so it should be.
The "fast as shit" boot times are BULLSHIT. Takes just as long to boot as Windows 7.

Timed it on my laptop. From powered off to the logon screen.
Windows 8: 13.7s
Windows 7: 26.8s
Okay So I've installed the Nvdia drivers. But it won't allow me to use my normal screen rez.
Are there any fixes?
Can you not set it manually through the nvidia control panel?
I can see it manually. But the problem is that when I select 1980x1080 it just reverts to 1680x1024 or whatever res it was before I selected 1980x1080.
Another thing to add, is that it at first wasn't on the list of selectable res. I had to add it to the list via customize.
