Compatibility? Yes. Stability? Worse than previous releases.
Is installing worth it? Not as main OS. Chances are it'll space out after a few weeks.
So far I've found it stable. Nothing stopping me using it as my main system.
Can someone link me to the Realtek HD Audio drivers for windows 8? I tried a cab from softpedia but I said I have the latest version of my drivers installed.

She's 13, and very conniving.

But why would you need to track her history? I could understand if it was a boy full of hormons and you were of the opinion that porn isn't something kids of his age should watch, but what would you like to find here? Not judging you, simply interested in what there could be to find.

Online predators obviously

Same here, it's been very nice actually. Except for that text issue that everyone seems to be kind of shrugging at.
Windows 8 probably just has some driver problems right now. I'm sure they'll be ironed out by manufacturers when RTM comes around.
Interesting, I just had that annoying freeze when listening to music and it repeated that last half-second continuously like what happens when you get a BSOD. So maybe Windows is trying to crash but can't?
Since the music app (assuming you're using the default music app) now runs in a sandbox, maybe it freezed or crashed yet didn't affect the rest of the system.
I hate it how when apps crash Win8 does not give you any message or anything, just takes you to the start menu. sometimes it makes me feel it was my fault. There should be some kind of message IMO.

Wasn't using the Music app. And I could tell it was one of those freezes because every bit of UI became unresponsive.
I would love to use it on my laptop, but so far it's been almost impossible to get the AMD/Intel integrated hybrid/switchable GPU drivers working. Installing these: http://drivers.leshcatlabs.org/ in compatibility mode with 7 at least installs and lets me switch GPUs, but it'll occasionally freeze the system/crash programs when doing so, plus shutting the lid with Integrated active using even somewhat recent Intel graphics drivers usually means you'll open it back up to an unresponsive black screen, requiring a hard shutdown. Seeing as HP abruptly stopped posting new Win7 drivers for my mid-2011 model at the end of the year, I don't have high hopes for official support.

Well It's my little sister, and I'm just looking out for her. If I find anything shady, I'll report and block it.

A bug in the new bsod?

Then you're one of the few lucky bastards.
A bug in the new bsod?
I suppose it could be, though I've seen the BSOD before in the DP and it still had that freezing issue.

That's a very valid point you raise. User confidence is one of the "big" things MS is trying to get right with Win8. If your apps are bringing you back to the Start screen when you launch them (and they load a bit), Windows will KILL the app if it does not load in time.

By going behind her back and making sure her behaviour is in line? This is akin to you stalking her wherever she goes to make sure that nothing happens to her.
If you really want to look out for her - prevent issues instead of looking for issues. Make her understand how to move safely on the net.
Aero still sort of still be there, but very opaque

Look in the superbar, I think that a simple patch would allow to have decent Aero back
There's no blur though.

The aero icons are still there. Of course it takes time to create a whole new set of icons. Here's hoping they're gone for good in the final release.

Don't get your hopes up.
They still cling to the Windows 95 icons in Shell32, why would they start cleaning house now?

Clear panel without blurring? Now they're just copying Compiz. :/

Similarities doesn't mean they copied it.
Not to mention DWM had blur-less transparency back in 2003.
What I dislike about the whole two interface design in Windows 8 is that it means less focus on the desktop GUI and more on the tablet/Metro GUI :pwn:
I am still not satisfied with the desktop interface in Windows 8

I wouldn't say they're focusing less on the desktop GUI, I image there are two different groups for each side, just they may have focused more on the start screen in the beginning.
I do agree it doesn't look all that pleasing though.

I am pretty sure they imagine the tablet GUI will be the most used, with the desktop GUI being used for power users aka no one in the minds of most marketers

I'm pretty sure they've got enough heat on the start screen to imagine otherwise.
