im moist for ios 6
I have Siri on my iPhone 4 unofficially and it takes a while to initialize but it's not exactly a slow performer
I'd love to see Siri natively without requiring jailbreaks. Seems like that's a far-fetched dream and I'll have to shell out an extra $200.
I have Siri on my iPhone 4 unofficially and it takes a while to initialize but it's not exactly a slow performer
Wonder if you could do it with the iPod Touch Gen 4 heh

Am I the only one who is extremely hesitant to upgrade to iOS6? I totally agree with Protocol7 in saying that Apple shouldn't be blatantly hated on; they have definitely done great things... however this update really doesn't seem promising. I can't even fathom using Apple Maps.

So they are definitely releasing their own app? Any ETA?

Google apparently doesn't even know how iOS apps work with their Youtube app only being phone sized as though they think it'll just stretch out ridiculously to fill all the screen space like on Android tablets.

Well nonetheless, the thought of Google re-releasing their maps app is totally relieving. Hopefully they'll figure out iOS app development relatively soon so they can kill two birds with one stone by updating the YouTube app and getting maps back on the market.
Wonder if you could do it with the iPod Touch Gen 4 heh
You can. Even with the iPod Touch 3G, (Which I Have) Just search up WordJelly Siri. There's a guide on how to enable Siri on the iPod Touch. It works really well too.
all mobile OS's are garbage iOS is to dull and obfuscated android is to laggy winphone 8 has no apps webos/symbian/ etc is dead
Apparently Apple Maps on iOS6 can predict disasters... [THUMB]http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_manth0rvQS1rhptwbo1_1280.png[/THUMB][THUMB]http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_manuusZt6M1rhptwbo1_1280.jpg[/THUMB][THUMB]http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_manlg1zhwq1rhptwbo1_1280.png[/THUMB]
It's just annoying that people can't see what Apple has done well. And honestly, where would Android be if Apple hasn't remained competitive?
The common phrase "competition spurs innovation" comes to mind in this case. As an Android user, I can say that anything on the 2.x branch was quite terrible as far as design came to mind. 4.x happened before I could switch to iOS, though, and I prefer it simply because of design. On Google Maps: If an app is already in the App Store for review, then I wouldn't be surprised if this was a partially mutual decision. Google can now regularly add features to Maps at its leisure, and Apple can become less dependent on Google for its services. It was like this with YouTube.
http://www.redmondpie.com/google-maps-for-ios-6-coming-soon-video/
Imagine if Apple didn't approve it :v: Seriously though, that's good to hear. Thanks!
why does apple hate bridges
The last time I used android it was terrible. Totally not smooth. Inconsistent design.
A few weeks ago I would've completely agreed with you, but then I decided to buy the Galaxy Nexus directly from Google and it changed my perspective on Android entirely. Also I updated my 4S to iOS 6 and it has been a very smooth transition. I like the neat passbook app they added but not that many places support that around me at the moment. Save for the Metra.
Apparently Apple Maps on iOS6 can predict disasters...
Too bad it couldn't predict itself.

no you're still using siriport's servers
This isn't necessarily iOS 6 specific but has Apple ever said anything about an option to remove that hideous chat bubble interface they got going for their SMS app? The sooner they allow users to use a different interface, the sooner all other apps that implement a "chat" interface (on both iOS and Android) have an option to use something else, and the sooner I can stop looking at the eyesore.
I think the fact that you can't change the interface is one of the great benefits of iOS.
I wouldn't mind the "can't change" so much if the interface they stick you with wasn't so fucking ugly. Seriously, everything else about iOS is neat as far as design is concerned. But that SMS interface, my god.
I think the fact that you can't change the interface is one of the great benefits of iOS.
It works both ways. It's good and bad. Works fine for me, though.
My dad on his iPad today: "What the hell? Is this shit broken? Where's my Youtube?"
Everything about iOS is either gaudy as hell or incredibly stale.
It's nice to see you keep throwing up something subjective as though it's a valid argument. Can anyone tell me why the YouTube app doesn't show up in the german appstore?
iOS7, more shiny.
This is the funniest thing I've seen in a while.
