14 bucks for a mousepad? I just use the arm of my chair.
I like it since you can adjust everything on it. It fits perfectly in my hand. And mine is not "bendy"
Yeah, I got the R.A.T 5 about a month ago and I love it. Very comfortable, good build quality and it looks incredibly unique in comparison to most other mice.

The R.A.T 3 doesn't look as good as 5 and 7.
Razer Sphex works well with the G500
I've just got a whole black mouse pad with a wrist rest. works good enough for me.
Hell, my LEG makes a good enough mousepad for me. Why would I spend so much money on something that could not benefit me at all over the $5 one I picked up at Staples.
Steelseries Xai.
Best mouse existing, no fancy bullshit like weights or leds, it just has the best sensor and the best tracking ever.
For mousepad get the Steelseries SX. Made of anodized alluminium it has the best glide ever.
I've got this gear since my team is sponsorized by Steelseries, and I can only say they make good stuff man.
I am currently using a G500 and I really like the feel, weight and Sharpness of the laser but for the same feel and weight maybe just not as fast as a G500 I would go for the MX 518
You're an idiot for buying something for looks, especially considering that something is going to be covered by your hand the entire time it's in use.
Get an MX518, if you don't, you're an idiot. It's as simple as that.
well the g500 does look a much better mouse than the g9 i have so i think ill just get that, How durable is the g500 though? as the person in the video said the g500 has that nice finish on the top which makes you sweat less, my g9 has been ruined mostly by sweat on my hand lol.

I've had mine for like a year and a half.. regularly smacked off the desk or run over by my chair as I scramble to do things in a small room in the morning. Nothing is broken at all. It's very solid.
Also the teflon feet and tracking on this mouse are so good a smooth desk is all that is needed. No mouse pad.

The g500 is a fuckton better in every way. I own both.
MX518 has a better sensor
G500 has more features
MX518 has a better sensor
Really? I find the G500 works miles better on reflective or poorly textured surfaces.
Really? I find the G500 works miles better on reflective or poorly textured surfaces.
Because it's laser.
If you want something that looks nice and simple and also performs very well, maybe you'd like the Intellimouse 3.0, or the Zowie EC1 (essentially a rebranded and improved IME3.0).
Is the "Ultrapolling" that comes with Razer products a gimmick or does it actually help?
Is the "Ultrapolling" that comes with Razer products a gimmick or does it actually help?
just the same 1000hz polling rate every mouse and it's grandmother has, but with a fancy name
just the same 1000hz polling rate every mouse and it's grandmother has, but with a fancy name
Oh I knew it was over-the-top with naming, I was just wondering if all other mouses had 1000hz or still at 250hz, thanks!
[editline]12th February 2011[/editline]
I meant 125hz.
Steelseries Xai is pretty good too.
Steelseries Xai is pretty good too.
Honestly I think the price for the Xai is overpriced.
MX518 is my first gaming mouse ever. Get on fine with it and it was great value.
The Deathadder is perfectly fine, for awhile at least. I've had mine for about 2 years or so and the mousewheel and side buttons are starting to stick and become unresponsive.

Though the MX518 still certainly isn't a slouch at all, it's one of the highest rated mice ever, and it's around half the price of the g500.
Way I see it, when you buy the MX518 you're getting the most value for your money.

This. g500/g5 are some of the best out there.
Relevant.

I personally find the Logitech G5 very well made. Sadly, it's not getting produced anymore and my old G5 had broken gel-pads. Luckily I found one on eBay. I ordered 2 new to be sure playing with it for the next 10 years. Best mouse I ever had.

Yeah I know several people who have had their G5's for as long as 4 years without wearing out what so ever
My G5 is three years old and the only thing that's happened to it is the Logitech logo has worn off.
I'm using my G5 right now and the only problem I have is that some of the blue from the texture on it is coming off. It's an awesome mouse.
I recently bought a Deathadder Respawn after reading alot into sensors and things, I used to own a Copperhead. I was going to buy a G500 but apparently it suffered from negative acceleration on cloth surfaces, so It was either an MX518 or a Deathadder Respawn, and I chose the Deathadder because I had money to burn. Optical sensors are probably what you'll want.
[editline]12th February 2011[/editline]
Also, I don't like the weird patterns on the G* mice.
But I fucking LOVE the G500's scroll wheel.
Mionix Naos 3200. It basically has all the features of a 518 with a really really comfy case. Also, it looks nicer.
