My DAC will be shipped on Monday :(((((((
This place has been invaluable to me. I wouldn't know what I know about computers without the help of the people who post here. How about this. If you guys want me to stop asking questions all the time, rate an agree. I don't want to infuriate anybody on here.
there's a questions thread, posting here allows us to make fun of you imo
there's a questions thread, posting here allows us to make fun of you imo
Gotcha.
and no, disabling hyper-threading wouldn't void your warranty, but your i3 doesn't even have hyper-threading. I'm assuming it's something else like writing to pagefile

he's making his own content
I just broke one of Brt's fans. I think.
ok im dumb sorry :( turn that hyper threading off though [editline]16th March 2012[/editline] (now you get to make fun of me)
ok im dumb sorry :(

gotta love when it walks right in

i3 doesn't even have hyper-threading.
The i3-2130 does have hyper-threading. [citation] And actually, as far as I can tell, every i3 has Hyper-threading. You're probably thinking of the i5s, where only a few have HTT.
Turning off hyperthreading didn't make much of a difference. Could be the VRAM or something else, I don't know. I may just be overpushing the system.
you guys and your intel shits... :(
you guys and your intel shits... :(
I have an AMD cpu, but it's in my brother's rig.
(now you get to make fun of me)
For the crime of claiming to know something, but not knowing something, I dub thee A COMPUTER ILLITERATE PERSON WHO THINKS HE KNOWS A THING
you guys and your intel shits... :(
I'm rocking an AMD/ATI system and it's pretty nice intel is for people with more money than sense
I love my i3, even though now I have an i5 2500k. That was a good cpu. Still in use on my server/NAS.
intel is for people with more money than sense
Not always. Currently, a Sandy Bridge will beat any similarly-priced Bulldozer or Phenom (unless the price of Phenoms dropped after BD hit - haven't checked). And I think the Atoms are beating the Fusions as well. And it's not always bad sense to buy a higher-price, higher-power system. If you actually need the power, and can afford it, Intel's often the only one that caters to you.
Since my motherboard is failing, I'm going to try and earn enough money this summer for either an i5-2500k or an i7-2600k. Both are do-able but i want some wiggle room for games/a second 6850. or one of the new ivy bridge processors.
There is not a lot you gain going from i5 to i7.
I guess i7 would just be for bragging rights. i5 it is.
I guess i7 would just be for bragging rights. i5 it is.
The i7 is for making everyone start asking you why the hell you bought one
The i7 is for making everyone start asking you why the hell you bought one
I bought a first gen i7 :x
Is it wrong of me to be re-considering my entire career since I don't understand anything about coding and I'm worried I'll have to know it?
Given that I've had the AP15's for like... 3 weeks and they are still in the box, I think it's fair to say I made a mistake ordering these. I should have gone with the AP14's or more AP13's.
Darn you Brt5470 you need to just use one kind of fan brand and call it a day. Just pick a good fan for heaven's sake. Noctua is a good fan brand to go with.
Fans are serious business.

I can hear people fucking in the house across the street. I hear people's noses whistling if they are in the same room. Fans are fucking important to me. [editline]16th March 2012[/editline] Which is why my next upgrade is doing a watercooling loop for my CPU. Going to do a 360 in the top I think, and maybe a 140 in the back, then I'll run four Ap13's on like 700-800rpm perhaps. I'll see what my temps are and maybe I can run my dual 580's on the loop as well, not sure. I don't really want to have an external box since my PC is on the floor, but I might have to.
Oh- shit. Ignore the sounds where you hear a child yelling "give me that there, ging-ee"
